Watching Gringo: The Dangerous Life of John McAfee right now. I’ve said this guy was a clown before in the crypto space but jfc :sdeek: The guy is weirder than I ever thought. There were like 6 girls they just interviewed and said he would have them lay in a hammock with a hole cut out so that they could crap in his mouth. I mean WTF :sdeek:  :buh-bye:

What a Doc. Dude is a legit psychopath and he has been reborn into a figure synonymous with the company/industry he originally created. I have no idea how he is still alive.

He seems to fancy himself quite the Kurtz.

The initial act was bullshit, but he became a reoccurring offender after the arrest. Definitely not a happy ending. I agree white privilege affected the initial outcome.

The Battered Bastards of Baseball

I found it enjoyable.

It's really damn good.

I plan on watching this soon.

I enjoyed this.
Me three.  Wife was off to bed until she saw Kurt Russell... returned to the lounger and watched it with me.

The Great Hack.

It’s about Cambridge Analytica and those involved and the continued use of all our data online. Everyone should give it a watch, some way more than others.

pirates of the caribbean - dead men tell no tales
it's nuts that barbossa goes from main bad guy who's an actual skeleton to the climax of saving everyone but mostly his own daughter at the end of this one. coming of age story for him (no idea what coming of age means btw)

I just watched “Jack of all trades” on Netflix which was supposed to be about baseball cards and I hated it. So many documentaries now do the breaking the fourth wall thing and inserts the director as the protagonist on some quest and it is so played out. I hate it.

This bump got me in the mood for a documentary and I remember people on here mentioning Tickled.  I thought it would be kind of a "haha look at these weirdos" documentary and my goodness was I wrong.  That got dark.  Very good though.

The West by Ken Burns

It was made in the 90's and is on Netflix now. It's like 12 episodes long each of which is like an hour and a half long. Wow, so well done and equally infuriating for what happened as a developing nation. I thought I knew a decent amount of US history but damn, we were rough ridin' awful.

Honeyland - Very good and definitely deserves its oscar nomination.  I had a few questions that could've been answered with narration but overall, I really enjoyed the non-narration direction.  On Hulu if anyone wants to watch

The California thing was really eye opening. Straight up Genocide and didn't even try to sugar coat it.  Not only did they kill all the native people they just simply ran off/bullied the Spanish/Mexican landowners who had been there for decades.  Just BRUTAL.

Do some youtubing on the Sand Creek massacre when you have time...

McMillions on HBO is based off one of the best longform articles I have ever read and it does not disappoint.  Amazing.

Agree on both.  The main FBI agent is a delight.
