Why would the Liberty Bowl invite Iowa State (6-6) for a rematch with Tulsa over us?!

It makes no sense.

So, do you guys just think about KU 24/7 or what?

you know what I think about a lot?  Like, how did a whole tribe of indians not get wiped out by a tornado at some point?  Shouldn't have that of happened?  I mean, they had like no cover whatsoever, no siren warnings, nothing.

Tornados didn't exist until the white man pissed off the god of the prairie.

How would we know if it did? You'd probably have to review the oral traditions of all the tribes and find if any suddenly were mysteriously rid of their enemies at any point in their history.  Then again, maybe the bison circuit through the Great Plains avoided the tornado season for the various areas, since their behavior was probably set by a much longer period of environmental patterns.

Liberty Bowl has said they took ISU because they are trying to get their foot in the door with the Big12 for the next round of bowl agreements in 2014.  Almost all those agreements go in 4 year cycles together with this cycle set to expire when the current BCS contract expires.  Also, if ISU didn't want to reply Tulsa they could have turned the bid down.  The Liberty Bowl is going to pamper them as much as possible to impress the Big12.

Also, how stupid does the LaTech administration have to be?  If The Liberty Bowl said they were going to take you, why didn't they extend you a bid?  You turned down the Independence Bowl because you were waiting on the Liberty Bowl.  If the Liberty Bowl said they were going to take you, why didn't you ask them why they weren't officially doing it with a bid?  Don't try to blame the Liberty Bowl for misleading you if you were too stupid to see that they weren't offering you a bid.

IMO you can split bowl matchups into three groups:

Blowouts
Nail-biters/toss-ups
Everything else (usually 1-2 TD games that either appear closer than they were, or vice versa)

Blowouts:
Louisville-Florida
Nevada-Arizona
Purdue-Oklahoma State
Northern Illinois-Florida State
SMU-Fresno State
East Carolina-Louisiana Lafayette
Minnesota-Texas Tech
North Carolina State-Vanderbilt
Ohio-Louisiana Monroe
Georgia Tech-USC
Bowling Green-San Jose State
Central Michigan-Western Kentucky

Nail-biters/toss-ups:
Rutgers-Virginia Tech
South Carolina-Michigan
Baylor-UCLA
Rice-Air Force
Pittsburgh-Mississippi
Wisconsin-Stanford
TCU-Michigan State
Texas-Oregon State
West Virginia-Syracuse
Mississippi State-Northwestern
Oregon-Kansas State
Texas A&M-Oklahoma

Everything else:
Washington-Boise State
Ball State-UCF
Kent State-Arkansas State
Toledo-Utah State
Tulsa-Iowa State
Duke-Cincinnati
San Diego State-BYU
Navy-Arizona State
Clemson-LSU
Nebraska-Georgia
Notre Dame-Alabama

Isn't that from one state to another?  As opposed to from all 49 states to one?

@Sean_Callahan People ripping on Nebraska's early sales should also realize flights from Omaha to Orlando are $800 to $1000 round trip. Hard to justify.

I'm sure the cost to get to Pasadena would be much cheaper.

Not one state to another, but just "to cross a state line." So any state to another.

I was ready to call bullshit on this.  Then looked on kayak and he's right.

Guess that's what happens when your airport is in the middle of nowhere.  KCI flights are $200 cheaper.
