I think someone went back and changed all the predictions in this thread. We've heard for a long time that this season's success was the expectation from day 1.

That said, even as an optimist I was very wrong about my pick.

REVISED:*

10-3 OOC, 11-7 Big 12.

*The league is just not that great this year and I think this team will come around. Big 12 teams lost a lot of games over Thanksgiving week, ours was far from the worst performance. Its hard to look an anyone outside of KU and OSU right now (and OSU's youth will likely be up and down) and think we won't (at worst) split. Its not like it will be some impossibility to beat KU either.

I think most of the pessimistic picks were made after we were well into a very "meh" nonconference performance. I was certainly much more optimistic in October than I was by the end of November. oscar has done a nice job turning things around and getting the kids to buy into his system, though.

Wouldn't be surprised if Baylor sweeps us and we drop one to ISU since we always seem to have troubs with them at the end of the season.

Oh man.....

The win at GW was the low point for me. Even though we won we looked hapless against a clearly sorry GW squad, and oscar's excuse about the rowdy crowd of 4000 was too much to take.

Yes. The losses to Michigan and Gonzaga really did nothing for me. And if I remember, everyone melted down after the Gonzaga loss. But we looked so much worse against GW, and we looked like we didn't care. And then to go from Frank who wouldn't even make excuses when Pullen and Kelly didn't play, to a guy who said we played poorly because of a rowdy 4000 person crowd was just too much for me to take.

Up until the Florida win, the whole noncon schedule was pretty miserable. I was convinced we were just getting worse.

I didnt really look at RPIs much early on, but after the Fla win, if i remember right our RPI was still in the 50s.   Can u imagine going into the conference with a 10-3 record, no top 100 wins, and a RPI in low 60s or high 50s?   Ugg.

I am usually optomistic and i said after the Zags game that we beat Fla and go 12-6.   Love how we will eclipse that by at least 2 games.
