KANSAS STATE HEAD COACH JIM WOOLDRIDGEOn getting the win..."We really needed that. It was a much-needed win for us. I told the kids after the game that I was really proud of the way they came out and started the game. I thought they played extremely hard again. I've been pleased all weekend with their effort. We've got a lot of improving to do as a team but it was a great win for us."On K-State's big first-half run..."We found some ways to get it in the basket and we rebounded the ball well. We were active and alive on the floor and it proved to be the difference in the game."On letting Michigan get back in the game during the second half..."This is the third game in three days and both teams were a little fatigued. We sent them to the line too much. They are an awfully talented team and we knew that they were going to be able to make some plays and hit some shots. But we were able to finish the game off at the free throw line. We got some lay-ups out of our press offense that proved to be just enough at a critical time when they were making their run that kept our spirits up and our confidence up."On K-State's defense throughout the tournament..."I thought we played great defense, particularly tonight when we've played back-to-back-to-back games. The effort has been great and that's what has kept us in these games."KANSAS STATE PLAYERSSenior Forward Matt SiebrandtOn his play at the Paradise Jam..."I finally played well and I'm just happy to get a win. It's been a frustrating few days. We played well but we didn't pull out any wins and I didn't play the way I needed to play to be successful. It was a frustrating weekend and it's nice to go out on a high note."On the game..."We're starting to play well together on the offensive end. We played good defense all week and the offense started to click and we were able to go on a little run in the first half. Everyone was playing together."On his difficult start to the season..."The teams we've play have really sagged down on us and it's been hard for me and Pervis to do much down low. It was a frustrating two games, but I think we've learned from it and hopefully the next time we see that we'll be able to adjust."Senior forward Pervis PascoOn his play during K-State's first two games..."It was really frustrating. Coming out I wasn't really in the flow of the game and I probably rushed things a little bit. I think I basically just tried to do too much instead of being myself and getting the team into a rhythm."On the importance of getting a win over Michigan..."This is a big confidence builder for us because we were coming in with two losses. It was a great win for us as a team."Junior guard Frank RichardsOn his play and getting a win..."I knew I had to just go out and relax, be myself and get the team to work with me and everything flowed the way it was supposed to."On K-State's keys to victory..."We had good energy today and we were determined to get a least one win. We looked at each other before the game as said 'we're going to get this on.' And we just buckled down. We came out playing hard."On how important the win was for K-State..."We needed this win bad to restore our confidence and be emotionally ready to come back next Saturday (vs. Northwestern)."On the game..."It certainly wasn't perfect. We need to continue to work on executing our offense, rotate on defense and do the small things."We should be able to build some momentum off of this win and keep it going."On hitting 4 of 4 free throws in the final 21 seconds..." Coach (Wooldridge) told us that's how you close out a game. It was very important for me, especially mentally and I had to step up for my team and help us win. Down the road this gives me some confidence that I can hit the big, clutch shots."Junior guard Jarrett HartOn the reason for K-State's improved play..."I think we had a better flow tonight. We were much crisper in our passing and in our offensive sets. Coach (Wooldridge) emphasized that today in our meetings and I think we came out and did that. We also picked up our intensity and played with more consistency."
