Report from last night:
Michigan fan is super weird. The constant "Beat Ohio" chants were very confusing. Fat Jersey accented Michigan guy next to me really did not appreciate my pointing out how obsessed they were with those guys and that it was not very healthy for them. I told him you don't see us chanting "Beat the Longhorns". This loser then was like "Isn't KU your rival"? I then proceeded to  in his face. They even boo'd Christian Laettner as he was getting some NCAA 75 year greatest tournament player award at the half. Those fat smelly losers really seem to hold a grudge. As for the game it was very meh. oscar has killed all of the joy in KSU hoops for me. Even when we got back in the game right before half my excitement level was just not there. My hoops EMAW is as broken as Rodney's game.

Kellis took his wife, on the Star's dime, barely even goes to the game.

Exept for horrid pay, the Star is a great gig as they never fire anyone and have no standards so you can be awful and inaccurate.

I wish I had job security like that, I guess I'll just have to settle for the "not horrid pay" and continue to be good at my job.

Coincidentally, looks like the Star/Eagle websites implemented their paywalls today, or at least I triggered it for the first time today.  Pretty easy workaround though.

was there.  also attended the catbacker thing the 1st night at the australian.  prob 30 people there, some big donors (CFO of Bain i think)  met currie, wanted to call him out on weber but was with a friend who worked for him and didnt want to start anything.  lame, sorry.

delaware was super dead, they didnt allow anyone in the upper deck so it was a free for all for seats. fwiw there was an R. Kelly show going on at the same time in a theatre under(?) MSG.  was surprised at the michigan fan dominance till a mich friend said pretty much all mich alums either come from ny or end up there after going to mich.  was annoyed they didnt sell any beer the whole tournament there.  the arena itself is really up to date in the bowl and the concourses.  lot of history everywhere.  had almost zero "old-timey" feel to it though.  seemed just like any other newer arena.  which was kinda disapointing in a way.

michigan game we had good seats (1st row behind the folding chair section), some purple around us.  michigan fans were yelling "baylor" and "brownback is your gov"  political smack, wierd.  the baylor stuff kinda hurt though.  was quietly optimistic for the game.  thought we just played nervous against delaware.  boy was i wrong.  spent the whole 2nd half yelling to bring back frank and get spradling off the floor which had to annoy the tuck with his family next to me.  also called out rodney for "getting his" when the game didn't matter.   came away totally disgusted and unenthusiastic for the rest of the season.  Least we had a good time drinking around NY to take away from the awful game.

"Brownback is your Governor" is very smart and cutting trash talk.  Can't imagine how bad it would have been for you if they figured out he is an alum.

UM folks (even if they hail from Michigan) look down on non-UM Michigan residents in a big way.  Like NW in Illinois except they're better at sports.  I think they call them Walmart Wolverines.  It's a way to be elite while stuck in a shitty state.  Can't say I disagree with it.  If you'd have come at them with Michigan is a shithole or Detroit sucks smack that would have just reinfornced their superiority.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

Gas station fans is what an MSU fan I know calls them. Walmart Wolverines is very nice, though.
