I don't think it would be all that hard for them to find another job that pays about $12,000 per year.
Yeah, that's why the strike seems dumb.
I agree that it's dumb to waste time picketing in front of Wal-Mart, but if I were working there and somebody told me I had to come in on Thanksgiving and open the store at 8:00 pm and work until early the next morning to earn about $50, there is no way in hell I'm coming in. I probably just work up until Thanksgiving and plan a job search. That said, if the strike works out, maybe nobody gets fired and they all get a $1 per hour raise? That would be good for us taxpayers, who have to support the millions of impoverished Wal-Mart workers on food stamps, Medicaid, etc.
