But, yeah, if FSU beats UF and USC beats ND, we're probably back in.  It could happen.

So we need a top 10 team to win and USC to win a home game that can save their season?

I think beating Texas with our current M.A.S.H unit would be the biggest surprise of them all

It's a legit question about being ranked 5th, but both Edwards ans BCSguru have us there and there's not much reason to doubt them.

Guys, it could happen.  If Bama and Domer lose, I have a feeling the morons in power would still put a Florida v Georgia NCG out there because they are morons.  I don't think Domer will lose, however, after watching UCLA shred USC's run defense.
But if enough voters decide they don't want to see an SEC NCG, especially with a Florida team that has a hapless offense, they could move us back up.  Especially if we dominate Texas by 30 pts or more.
Our defense looked so terrible last night, I'm not sure that we could ever play that bad again if we tried.  I think we should still be favored by a touchdown vs Bevo.

And this bullshit about putting Manziel in front of Miller, Teo, and Klein has got to stop.  That kid is a moron on a team with 2 losses.  He's just fun to watch because he runs with one hand up in the air like a bullrider.

Might throw down $100 on K-State winning the NCG.  Wonder what the odds in Vegas are now?  Might make me some serious cash.

Just beat Texas at this point and I'm good. Salvage as much as we can. I'm not going to concern myself with anything else.

We're not getting in the NCG. The only way we would get there is if they HAD to put us there (no losses).

We aren't Nebraska or OU, no-one is going to mindfully CHOOSE to put us in the NCG.

You guys obviously have no idea how much a few mimosas and a few shots of denial can do for you on a sunday.

This.  Just beat Texas, give our guys a month to heal and enjoy watching one of our greatest teams one last time.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

dude don't even get my hopes up right now... we'll be lucky to win a share of the dr. pepper

Don't give me this B/S. We have physically dominated every team that we have played up to this point in the season. We were the better team against Baylor, we will be the better team against Texas. We got caught looking ahead. Players AND Coaches. We will beat Texas, get the Dr. Pepper, and at worst be playing in the Fiesta Bowl.

Sucks that if this season happened two years later, we'd still have a pretty good shot at making the playoffs.

I think we'll get there again.

Is Matt Barkley out?

Separated shoulder, so yes

But on the unrealistically optimistic side, gonna be tough for Notre Dame to prepare for a QB with no film available on him :emawkid:

Rivals has a redshirt freshman listed as the backup.

Yeah no one even suggested this.

The people who were hoping for another shot were thinking that KSU would be ranked above all of the two loss teams and hoped that the one loss teams would lose the fairly tough games they all have left.
