Winning percentage is what percentage of games a team won.  Ties do not count as wins, therefore they lower a team's winning percentage.  That isn't "my math", it's how you calculate winning percentage.  Maybe your buddy shouldn't have called out KSU for being under .500 all time when your team shares the same dubious honor.
