Lockett, along with the rest of our starters, had no business whatsoever being in the game during garbage time

I'm going to light something on fire if he is seriously injured because we wouldn't let backups run out the clock

Don't take a knee Bill, don't put in the scrubs, keep runnin that option and maybe some folks will get hurt.
You got me here. I don't see why he didn't take a knee.

TCU had 2 or 3 timeouts. :dunno:

And down 2 scores   :dunno:

How often do you see a coach take a knee three times, running only about 10 seconds off the clock, then punt?

I was/am furious about this, but the only thing i can think is that Bill was sending a message to the team...he was clearly not happy with the way we played. I have no other explanation because nothing else makes much sense.  Gary had conceded...he was NOT going to call timeouts...the game was over if we take a knee.  Just really wa weird deal, I'm just hopeful the guys that were injured are ok.

Snyder's use of #1s was no different than it is in any other game. This really wasn't even that unusual, it was even a 2 score game when Lockett got dinged.

Keeping the guys in against Tech was much, much worse than what we did at TCU.

That said, the back to back speed option calls were extremely bizarre in that situation.

i'd say there is a 95% chance lockett plays this weekend.   zimmerman, not so much.

Okay so don't kill the messenger, but have heard from some football players (will not reveal names) that Zimmerman has a broken fibula, and will not play against Baylor, doubtful for Texas, but might be alright for the bowl game. Have heard Sexton broke collarbone, but Lockett is expected to be okay.

i don't think he has a broken fibula.  the dude walked off the field on his own power right next to lockett and there were no trainers around either of them.  i don't think a person can walk on a broken fibula.

Not true... Info from medical sources...
"However, even with more severe injuries, early partial weight bearing is low risk since the fibula is not a primary weight bearing structure"

For athletes w/ fibular fractures: "For athletes, splinting continues for three to four weeks followed by a few weeks of rehabilitation. Training resumes at six weeks and full training usually starts at approximately eight weeks. When the fracture is minor, the pace of the rehabilitation schedule can be increased considerably based primarily on pain tolerance. After the first week of splinting, many athletes can run or train at reduced intensity while wearing a light-weight stirrup. Exceptions to this rapid return to sport include sports like soccer in which the lower leg is subjected to high torsional stresses and direct trauma."

Dudes not back til at least the NC.

I liked Joe's optimism for Zimm's bowl game chance.

I walked off a soccer field last summer with a spiral fractured fibula.   :dunno:
