I know a guy who captured a squirrel and kept it in a cage in his dorm room (wasn't a K-State student).  It lost all its fur and then died.

Just goes to show...you can't take a squirrel olut of its element. What would have happened to the student if the squirrel captured him and put him in a tree?

if the squirrel gave the student food, water and shelter the student would be fine.  same goes for the squirrel that the student starved to death.

He provided the squirrel with food and water and kept the cage clean too, don't know why he died that way.  Maybe he already had mange

I used one of these.  Used peanut butter to catch them, my neighborhood is overrun with squirrels and my relocation program had little impact.

I think squirrels and rabbits both eat tomatoes. I've sacrificed many to what I assume are both. mrs. dave gets really angry because they don't finish one before moving onto the next which makes me smile.

wetwillie is right, what you are describing is a squirrel biting a tomato, being disgusted, refusing to eat it, moving on to the next tomato, trying it, etc.  not a squirrel happily eating tomatoes.  if you were to cage one of your trapped squirrels with nothing but a bunch of tomatoes to eat, all its hair would fall out and it'd die.

wetwillie is right, what you are describing is a squirrel biting a tomato, being disgusted, refusing to eat it, moving on to the next tomato, trying it, etc.  not a squirrel happily eating tomatoes.  if you were to cage one of your trapped squirrels with nothing but a bunch of tomatoes to eat, all its hair would fall out and it'd die.

To be fair, if you caged anything and fed it nothing but tomatoes it would die.  Not sure about the hair loss though.
