Does this law make it legal for Colorado farmers to grow marijuana as a cash crop? I don't understand how a law like this could be passed with the intent of collecting a tax on sales unless they plan on allowing stores to sell it. Who are the stores going to purchase it from, though?

doing no research on it at all, i thought i heard on tv it was just for possession up to an ounce.  basically "decriminalized".  could be totally wrong though.

It is just an ounce, yes. And it's similar to open container, you can't go around smoking in the streets or anything.

Colorado's Amendment 64 will allow adults over 21 to possess up to an ounce of marijuana, though using the drug publicly would be banned. The amendment would allow people to grow up to six marijuana plants in a private, secure area.

They are leaving a ton of cash on the table by not taxing legal production and distribution, though I suppose it would be pretty difficult to get around federal law there.

No way federal agents get involved in this p.... If it does happen it will be extremely rare. Weren't they already told by the justice dept. to make it their lowest priority like four years ago?

Like someone mentioned, the feds cracked down pretty hard on medical dispensaries in California this year. Not sure why Colorado wouldn't have similar problems.

The main lobby guy from Colorado was on bill maher last night and said the feds leave colorado alone for the most part because they are more self regulated than california.
