This is a fun order:
IV, V (Luke finds out about his father), II, III (II and III act as flashbacks), and then VI, VII, VIII, ....Episode I is optional.

You could start with Rogue One and then start the above order.  Solo can be watched at any time IMO.

I’ve only really watched the original 3. DVR’d and background watched the first new one over the course of a week, and read the plot of the next one on Wikipedia.

My only recommendation would be to skip 1-3 if that's an option.

In that case, I'd also recommend sequential order. It's a straightforward timeline.

WHEW what a week. all i have left is Solo and The Last Jedi. i will probably skip Solo for now as i've seen parts of it and don't think it's necessary. i will watch The Last Jedi tonight or tomorrow before seeing The Rise of Skywalker on sunday.

I: bad
II: less bad
III: kind of good
IV: horrible but old so forgivable
V: less horrible but old so forgivable
VI: decent but still bad, but old
VII:

Rogue One:

The first half was very meh. The second half was ok but yeah it felt rushed. Also I was surprised the theater wasn’t more packed in general.

I liked 8 a lot more.  Seems like Abrams either didn't have a plan or just scrapped it and decided to do something completely different with 9.
