It's been over a week or so now that this has been un-pinned at GPC. We'll un-pin it from goEMAW now. Just wanted to make sure that it received as much exposure as it could.I hope for the best for this k-stater and his family and friends.
Greetings fellow Cats. Last fall I made a request on gpc for donations. The donations were for a 22 mile hike I was to endure for pediatric cancer research. A little over two years ago, I lost my youngest daughter, Lucy, to complications with a brain tumor. Since then, I have done what I could, and will continue, to help raise money and awareness for research to stop this disease that takes our children away from us. When Lucy was going through her brain surgery, and subsequent chemo treatments, my family was overwhelmed with support from our families, friends, and those that have always come through: K-Staters. When you see that name on the old and the new press box, LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium, the word family has so much meaning to it. I do believe that all those that sent a dollar, a kind word, a prayer, or just a thought our way showed the support that only a real family could. It didn't take long, after I posted about the hike, that gpc'ers began to contribute. There were some with gpc accounts and goEMAW accounts, that caught wind of my post. I, again, was overwhelmed. My fundraising goal was $2500. With all of your help, it was doubled. Whether its about adjc, oscar weber, fitz, joe bob, or whomever, our passion is strong, but that isn't our best characteristic and quality. It's family. And I want to give this board and its members an overdue thank you. Play nice and see you in Manhattan. Thank you, from your K-State brother, Weibart
I can't even imagine losing a child.
I am very proud of goEMAW's posters.
