Divorce early in the life of an adolescent (between 4-10) wasn't so bad due to the timing of the divorce. These children were less likely to be 16 and preggers. However, divorce during puberty or after led to eroded mental/physical health and increased the probability of dropping out of school. Bill Self's kids are now at an increased likelihood to smoke bath salts and eat the faces off of people. Pro-tip: I know Bill Self has a daughter and she is now 50 times more likely to have one night stands. She may be at an increased risk for STDs, however, so protect your boy.
If Bill Self's soon to be ex-wife has several new "pool boys", the effect of the kids is devastating and they could see lows never seen (such as following Iowa State).
In all seriousness, the effects will probably be minimal due to the SES level of the family. Therapy is critical going forward (both individual and family level therapy).
