So, is it reasonable to expect a conference championship this year?  Or is that still a whisper?   I mean, we executed probably as well as we could have hoped to against OU, coupled with OU just wetting the bed. We’ve looked good/above good against Miami and OU, but average/below average against MoSt and N Texas. 

Our remaining schedule seems ridiculously tough.  Not only @ WVU (#7), @ TCU (#14), @ Baylor (#24), but then we have trap games of @ ISU (RV) and OSU (#22) sprinkled in, with the CTR (#10) to top it off.  We play @ TCU after they would have gone @OSU and @WVU, so my assumption is that they’ll be desperately needing a win.  And @ ISU scares the crap out of me.  They will not mind playing our game and they will run right at us (something I think teams don’t try to do enough of, quite frankly).  If we get by @ ISU and @ WVU, then, my goodness.  We’d have 2 games leads on OU and WVU.  Right now, though, kinda premature?

True, however you can expect to win “x” amount of games and by doing so it results in a championship.  So I'll rephrase...can we expect to win enough games given our performance and the remaining schdule, to win a championship?

It is kinda premature, but eff it, we aren't players or coaches so we can look ahead and worry about this type of thing.

I really think West Virginia is the only game the rest of the year where I might not be very confident going into the game, but I won't have a solid opinion about coal aggie until after they play at Texas the week before we play them.  Unless they really wow me in that game, I'm looking at them as a poor man's version of 2011 Oklahoma State.  If we can run the ball against them and pressure Geno Smith, they don't stand a chance.

Baylor, Oklahoma State and TCU (20 points against KU ) are all overrated until proven otherwise.  This seems like the year Texas finally gets their crap together and plays like a team full of 4 and 5 stars, but I just don't see us losing to them at home on Senior Day with an extra week of preparation.  Iowa State and Texas Tech are potential trap games but I think we have strong enough leaders among both the players and coaches to prevent us from looking past trap games.

We can sputter on offense at times, and we don't have a shut down defense. 

But, it's completely cool to be "worried" about this kind of stuff as compared to being "worried" about not completely sucking a$$.

The schedule is really tough.  Everyone is overlooking that game in two weeks, its going to be a bitch.  There are five games left in which we could easily go 2-3 in and still be a top 15 caliber team.

Yep.  Those two things plus timely turnovers and not beating ourselves are why we beat Oklahoma.  I don't see K-State losing any game in which they win the turnover battle, control the line of scrimmage on offense and hit/rush the other team's QB just enough to rattle him and make him uncomfortable.  Shacks' three keys to success.
