us, canada, taiwan, singapore, thailand

wish i could say more

Never been to Europe. Have really meant to go, but, it's like so far away and have always heard that Prague is full of self-indulgent wieners.

Nah, the self-indulgent wieners just visit Prague.

The creepiest thing about Bangkok was the flight in. It was filled with rich, hairy, thick-thighed European men in yachting shorts and gold chains openly interested in underage meat.

lot of great things about thailand, but also lots of awful things.  will be nice to move out in like 2 months, been here way too long.

Been to Chiang Mai? Was there 9 years ago or so. Less creepy sex tourists, awesome jungle resorts and amazing bazaar at that time. Have you  caught yourself haggling over something like 20 baht yet? Kind of embarrassing when you remember the exchange rate (made me feel like a real ass, but it's so easy to get caught up in the bargaining process).

Biggest thing I miss about Thailand? Fresh pineapple on the street. Unreal. Also, tiny glass bottles of red bull sold in shopping carts full of ice and street vendors selling those dirty little red monkeys. Really sad to see the blood protests now. Such a potentially great country.

Stayed in a church in a ghetto part of Juarez for a week (in 2005 when they were just killing women instead of everyone). The host ppl were all like "don't go out at night"  :ohno:

Was more scared when I stayed a few nights in Alberta tho. Canadians :runaway:

DoD just officially banned us from going to Ciudad Juarez. As if they had to tell me...

never been to cm, but i know some people who live there, and they all love it.  sounds like a nice, peaceful area, lots of nature, clean air.  significantly cheaper too.  i haggle sometimes, try not to be the sucker.

blood protests do suck, and this country will probably go to crap for a while when the king dies (he's ill right now).  great place to visit though, i feel like a lot of backpackers make it their home base to travel to the islands, and other asian countries.

Yeah, liked CM more than Bangkok. Also, got to stay in a resort there and ride an elephant in the jungle. Super-cliche, but still pretty awesome.
