Anyone been to Costa Rica?
I stayed at an all-inclusive in costa rica, it was like a few hour bus ride from the airport, which sucked.  Especially because they drive you through these villages of like dirt poor people, and I feel bad that I'm just on my way to some place to eat and drink as much as possible for a week.

I stayed at the Riu Palace Peninsula in Cancun for my 'moon.  I enjoyed it. Adults only is recommended.

the fact that you consider the Caribbean and Central America to be real international destinations is SO ADORABLE

I mostly agree with this but you will only get 2, maybe 3 honeymoons in you lifetime - save the quick jaunts to Playa & Punta Cana for long weekends when the kids are with Nana and go someplace you have always wanted

The resort I went to wasn't adults only, it just has an adults only wing so you aren't bombarded by kids all the time.

The one I went to this summer was like that too.  It is fantastic and we will be looking for that from here on when we can.

The best thing about the adults only area is that you aren't really in the hotel, so the pool was legit 30 feet from my door.  The regular hotel was at least an elevator ride and 3 minute walk to the pools and the beach.

SW stops flying everywhere to the Caribbean minus Puerto Rico (which is really close to Punta Cana) in the next couple of months. However, I think we could use our points to get to Puerto Rico, stay a night and then fly for cheap to punta cana from there. I think i've got this figured out, guys!

We've been trying to book a trip through our points on SW for the last week. We want to go to the Caribbean. Every time we click on a flight from Denver to Aruba, Bahamas, punta cana, etc. (minus Puerto Rico) it says SW will no longer be flying to this destination on "said date".  :frown:

maybe you should just book an all-inclusive package somewhere in the 'bean thru a travel agent, and just keep your southwest points to use another time
