Thanks KSU_Fan and Panjandrum for posting to this thread.  I love the way you guys can dissect a team and come up with a quality synopsis that leads to a direction for us non-analysis game fan types. T-Y

I think we could get tested, especially against the run. Miami's hope will be to pound the ball at us, but they will use a pro-style attack and try to pound us with Mike James, their big back (220+) from last year. Harris at QB last year had running ability, but only managed 88 yards; QB run game is not in Golden's offense. The transfer QB from Memphis, Ryan Williams, looks like a decent thrower, but with no running ability. Fortunately RB Miller is in the NFL because his speed would've been a test. James averaged less than 4 yards per carry last year, so he's not a big play guy. Besides Harris at QB, they also lost their 2 leading WRs.
This has got to be a beat down from kickoff to end of fourth quarter.  What about their defense?  Seems like in the game at Miami they put a lot of pressure on CK.  I think this was the first game where he started bleeding.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

I won't fluff you, this game scares the hell out of me.  They are the one team on our schedule that can compete with OU and Texas in terms of skilled athletes.  It is Golden's 2nd year and I think he will have established some continuity and some things he wants done in a certain way.  Their biggest issue has already been addressed by many in this thread, they've had a lot of turnover from experienced players.  We will not run away and hide from the Canes.  I think we'll win it but it will be uncomfortably close.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Fair enough, I agree Golden's system will be more established, and that could factor in. And that Miami has talent and speed.

But they lost a lot. Not only the offensive issues I mentioned, but several defensive playmakers and their best kick/punt returner. I wouldn't say I expect us to run and hide in a blow out, but I think we should pull away in the 2nd half. I just don't think Miami can handle our mix of power running game and option football. I think we'll win the special teams battle. And I think our defense will handle them better than we did last year and probably force some turnovers from their inexperience.
