figured it was on purpose but of all of us, you've taken the oscar thing the hardest.  wasn't 100% sure you didn't lose it halfway through  your paragraph and just start over.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

yeah i took/am taking it pretty hard. illinois has always been the only other school that i actually cheer for. in highschool i had more illinois gear than ksu. way more. so i was pretty excited when illinois finally got rid of oscar and then kstate (my favorite school) immediately went out and hired him and i was all like omg you have just got to be kidding me. i just can't do this. i also went all in when they hired huggins and bought season tickets that year for the first time since i graduated, despite living an hour and a half away at the time, so i think that emotionally invests me a little more than if i just would've just been couch watching for the past six years. also being a townie4life makes a difference i think. people that didn't grow up in mhk can never care as much as those of us that did.

Honestly, him getting kicked out of an exhibition game is BY FAR my favorite thing he has ever done in his coaching career.  First time I have thought that he may give a crap

Serious moment...

I think there is a part of him that really does want to do well here.  I think he realizes that Illinois wasn't a good fit for him due to his, um, social disposition, and the last nine years were probably pretty miserable for him.

I think Weber loves coaching basketball, I don't think he's nearly as bad at it as a lot of people here think he is, and I think he'll do better than expected because he won't have the kind of media/booster/fan pressure he had at Illinois.

Granted, I don't think he'll set the world on fire, but I think he'll probably put something pretty similar to what Frank put on the floor.

End serious moment...

I hope he starts really strong because it sure looks like he eventually gave up at IL and with the amount of $$ he got to leave and is making now I can see him quitting on KSU and Manhattan pretty quick.  I don't want to see him and his dopey looking family do some weird "I just got crap canned" presser in 2 years.

Getting rid of this fuckstick in two years is the best possible situation. IMO

I wasn't happy with the hire at all, and as I said, I think we could have done better.  I understand why the hire was made (as we discussed before), and I think he'll do alright.  "Alright" is a subjective term, so your interpretation and my interpretation could be different.

I guess after seeing what Frank Haith did last year, my perception on how success/failure transitions from one situation to another has probably changed.  I'm willing to give oscar a chance, albeit a slim one, and I'll turn on him like a rabid dog when the time comes, but until then, I'll let him see what he can do.

Good insight on the Illinois thing.  Makes a lot of sense as to why you'd feel this way.

Using Frank Haith as an example sort of bothers me because I still expect him to fail at Mizzou.
