Okay #1 based on these stories, my trip to Morgantown was 300x more mumped up than anyone else's.

Gotta bill some time, so will be back with stories later, but here is one to start.

The cab situation in Morgantown is all kinds of mumped up.  They have these "cab stands" you have to wait at.  Penn State BF and I had to get in a cab with this rando family, even though another cab was coming.  The family had a dad and a son and a daughter.  We get into this cab van that sounds like it is going to blow up.  The dad tells the cab driver they are making two stops.  So we drive through some crazy back hills on campus and end up at WVU Beta.  Son goes in to the house and is gone for like 15 minutes.  We are just sitting in the cab while dad and daughter tell us how they want to rough ridin' kill us for being Kstate fans.  Penn State BF is like well I am actually a Penn State fan.  And then the cab driver starts yelling at him for raping children and tells him he is lucky he is all the way in the back seat.

Son comes back with a bag of pills and a bunch of other stuff.  Looks real mumped up.  Then we drive them to some crazy house that has all the windows boarded up.

Then we are like ok guy can you take us to our hotel now?  And he is like you are lucky I don't drop you off in the middle of nowhere for raping children.  But somehow we made it back.

what's weird about cab stands?  also, no dice on ride sharing in a cab.

It wouldn't have been weird if it was an actual cab stand.  It was just a sign.  No cabs would pick us up anywhere but the cab stand.

And the cab stand would move around from night to night without warning.  you had to find some teenager in an orange jump suit.

Luckily in Manhattan we don't have any cabs or public transportation to worry about.

A couple things:

1)  I want to hear a lot more about the PRT Sky Trams.

2)  How does Morgantown compare in general to Manhattan.

Every wildcat i saw was enjoying Morgantown a ton.  Pretty similair experience to MHK with the bars all being right by each other and the stadium being a little ways away.  The filly's were much better than at Penn State but we were also there on a huge gameday.  Confirmed that the cab stand moved and it was just some poor coal miners son that could barely speak english.  We had to share cabs both nights and wait over an hour to get picked up from our hotel at noon on Saturday.  The drivers were about as dumb as a 3rd grader from Ogden and the cars wont make it until December.  Since they only have one cab company in town it was their way or hike on busted as back roads several miles.

PRT- http://www.google.com/search?q=prt+morgantown+pics&hl=en&tbo=u&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Ol-FUMDNJKG82wXnpICQBQ&ved=0CC4QsAQ&biw=1024&bih=615

That should take you to pictures of the PRT which explains a bunch of it.  One station is like 2 blocks away from downtown and then it drops you 4 or 5 blocks from the stadium.  Goes pretty quick and there are lots of those little deals.  Its basically an electric car that drives on a little elevated sidewalk.  You just click the button to where you want to go on game day and the little sign pops up to where that next PRT is going.  It only goes to where the sign says and there are no other stops that it makes.  Obviously on gameday people were only going to two spots.  They stop running at like 11 or 12 (i cant remember but i do know we got the second to last one back downtown because they were saying how lucky we were as they were closing the station down)

EDIT: Did you drink from a mason jar? I think that is the only way to drink moonshine, I just want to know if the 'eers are genuine or not.

Older, and much more condensed. More difficult to get around, skinny roads. Traffic gets really congested. Goes without saying but it really is very hilly. It makes you realize how used you've gotten to living in a pretty flat part of the country. In terms of people, it's probably pretty similar. Student population has more of a northeastern vibe with a lot of Pittsburgh/Jersey I think. The tailgaters/alumni were absolutely hillbillies, but I didn't see that as a negative. They are just really nice hillbillies who talk funny.

Wonder how your experience would have been had your BF simply told the cabbie that he would rather rape the mask than any children.

I had some WVU fans sitting behind us in the visitors section. One dude threatened to knock my nose into the back of my head because of the shirt I was wearing.  I was so horribly confused.  All it said was K-State on the front and "The best team in Texas" on the back.  I don't know why the hill people got so bent out of shape about it.  Also this fat lady expressed her extreme hate for the mask.  All the young people said eff K-State, all the old people were super happy we were there and thanked us for making the trip.  Great experience overall. Would do again.

Yes.  I love that he stuck with it once the WVU family was gone.  "Then we are like ok guy can you take us to our hotel now?  And he is like you are lucky I don't drop you off in the middle of nowhere for raping children."   :driving:

Just watched a YouTube video showing the trailer park across the street from Milan Puskar.  Holy crap that's ghetto.  It's like a methier version of old jardine.

River through campus seemed pretty cool.  I assume it's basically black sludge, though, from all the coal dust and pollution.

You should've started walking 2 miles back to the Hampton Inn like we did and then chat up some bored cops who would give you a ride.

The drug dog was in the back just stone cold chillin' while me and the cop shot the crap while my friends shot the crap in another cop car. Also the cop pulled over to the side of the road and slowed down so my friends could clown these other two guys we went to the bars with for walking back. Cop's all, "I'm gonna drive slow and roll down your windows so you can make fun of these guys for walking, and call them losers, and stuff. And then we'll speed away."

Cost us zero dollars.
