I am not rough ridin' joking.

If I find out that any of you went to this game, and you did not post detailed stories, etc, I will rough ridin' ban you.  To hell with Steve Dave and his rules.

csourk was there. It would suck if he were banned for not giving an in-depth account of his experience.
can confirm...csourk was  :emawkid: all game

Great game. Tailgating was fun. I was really surprised on how nice all of them were. Moonshine tastes like rubbing alcohol. But it definitely does the job just fine. After the game, multiple WVU fans came up to congratulate our group and tell us how good we are. (no duh, right?)

Their stadium reminds me a lot of Iowa State's layout wise.

We were all sitting in the K-State section, but I guess a few sections over there were a pair of WVU fans beating the crap out of each other. Really wish I could have got to see that. Also, saw Justin Tuggle's dad Jesse. Mountain of a man.

lol @ people thinking Harper was telling Lockett to stop celebrating.  He was telling him to stop scoring touchdowns instead of him.

This. Lockett was laughing at what Harper said too. So blessed.

Also, I'd really like to add that WVU's scoreboard graphics and videos are terribly embarrassing to everyone that has ever inhaled oxygen.

If the moonshine you drank tasted like rubbing alcohol, you drink some shitty moonshine.

Our stadium is identical to Iowa State...same architects.

A couple of things i took away from the WVU game...

1. West Virginia is the Cracker Barrel Empire of the world..they get real butt hurt when you make fun of it.
2. Their first down cheer/clap/chant isn't AS weird as WPS of the pigaggies...but is still stupid.
3. The stereotypes are true....those hicks make incredible moonshine
4. Total pussies when it comes to intimidating opponents' fans. i didn't once feel uncomfortable...and believe me...i tried.
5. Trailer park right next to the stadium...yuck
I call BS on #2; they didn't have anything to cheer about.  :fatty:

Here's a selection of pics.

Look at that press box.  :sdeek:

Weird Robert as he walked by repeating, "154."

Cats ready to take the field.

Coin toss.

Final score on video board.

Can confirm everything that has been said about most WV fans being very congenial and inviting. Worst part was drunken EMAW chick in front of us spilling beer all over wife and I. Thought for a second the Mrs. was going to go all  :chainsaw: on the bitch's ass, and I was all  :excited: , but she held her cool. Of course there was lots of  :ksu: and  :lynchmob:, plus tons of random high fives. During one, dude a row down held his hand up right in front of his face and, of course, his buddy promptly high fived him giving him a backhand to the nose. I  so hard. True story.

The back of my head is in this pic!!

Also, will echo that everyone was pretty nice.  Pepperoni roll was delicious.  The trailer park right across the street was odd....but I found it more odd that it only had 18 trailers, a few of which looked vacant..  Also, there as a decent looking house all boarded up across the street.  Someone buy that thing and fix it up!!  You could rent that thing out and make a fair chunk of change.

Press box:     Needs a logo or something on the outside of that thing.  Looks even more small timey because of this.

You can buy beer in the stadium, and there were very few incidents / lipping off between fans.  There were many WVU fans sprinkled about the KSU section.  Little to no trash talking that I could see.  There was a fight several sections over from me.....looked like a middle aged WVU fan was pissed off about something.  Do not think it involved any EMAWs.

Student section bailed out BIG TIME after we INT'd Geno and then immediately put up another TD.  The few remaining students started an "overrated" chant late in the 4th quarter.

Did not see one couch go up in flames.  I feel my trip was somewhat incomplete because of this.

Hopefully will get the chance to go back.  It was a good time.

Pittsburgh airport:

Friday: ate at morgantown brewery. good food and beer. raged balls and tore apart the dance floor later that night at bent willie's (the name makes more sense now  :fatty:)

Saturday: woke up still drunk and discovered $1 draws at bent willie's and also discovered that they make awesome pizza. then checked out fat daddy's for a bit. took the free tram thing from downtown to the stadium. you guys gotta see these things, they're like 20 foot long box cars that magically take you to your destination. met some friendly students on there and had some good back and forth trash talk.

right when we got to the stadium, there was a little "eff the mask" chatter from some students but right when we got to the blue lot we were greeted like kings and given food and beer and most importantly, moonshine. very good stuff, potent as hell but doesn't burn like typical liquor. i don't think i can emphasize enough how friendly pretty much everybody was. "need a beer?" "need food?" "if you need anything just come back by" party passed a bottle of jameson with some coal aggies and yelled "eat crap pitt" more times than i can remember.

obviously, the game was an absolutely perfect experience. crowd was buzzing at the beginning, but i definitely had the feeling that we were ready to go. there was a fight between two wvu fans. i looked over a couple sections and saw what looked like a 60 year old man running down the bleacher and pretty much diving into another dude in the stairs. i later found out from a wvu fan that just before he dove at the guy, he screamed "let's dance!"

post game, they were just pissed about their defense. didn't hear much trash talk. drive today sucked.

Actually was a really nice drive. As we admired the fall foliage just outside Morgantown, were cut off by a couple WVU fans in a jeep that gave us the finger. Thought was a sign of things to come, but as all have said, the fans there were pretty much obsessed with being nice.

Went to Mario's Fishbowl on Saturday. Everyone clapped at us when we walked in the door, which seemed like a weird intimidation tactic. Solid wings and beer though.

Tailgating scene was pretty impressive. Everyone was quite friendly. The WVU fans love shotgunning beers. Pretty much every party offered us beers to shotgun. And the moonshine was legit. Ones with lime in the bottle were the best. The group nearest our car all had horrible acne. Like 15 people, 14 of whom whose faces were pepperoni rolls. Was strange. I guess they stick together?

Inside the game, great atmosphere. You could tell we were going to romp from the moment the players walked on the field. As WVU did their intro prior to running on the field, Klein and the Cats slowly and confidently just walked to the sideline like complete bosses. WVU fans during the game were pretty disgusted with their own defense, but never tried to make us feel uncomfortable. A few of them before leaving said they hoped we win the conference. Overall, great road venue.

My ramblings about Morgantown.  If you go straight to the bottom we still won.

No one cares about the Penn State thing on thursday so we will start our story off with Friday rolling into Morgantown right about 1.  The roads are all really narrow and rather hilly and akward other than the ones right by the stadium.  There just wasn't any room for them to make them better or wider i guess.  Went in to Gibbie's for a little lunch and tried a few beers that we wouldnt have around KC.  The fried pickles and turkey something sandwich were both very good.  Found our crappy Super 8 and checked in knowing that we werent going to see the place sober so it was ok.  Got a cab downtown right about 5 and headed to Fat Daddy's.  $1 pints till 6 and $2 after that.  Cheap beer was flowing and their scantily clab bartenders were keeping our glasses full.  Lots of old tucks and local college kids there earlier on since the $5 cover early on got you a buffet of wings soft pretzels and other junk, we shouldnt have ate lunch and waited for it I guess.  Once everyone we knew got there and we had already had about 5 WVU fans tell us where their tailgates were and that we had to try their shine cause it was the best in the state, we headed out to see some other bars.  Went by Chic n Bones and it was a little lame so we ended back up at Gibbie's which was shaped like a porters but felt more like an O'Malleys.  Ended up taking several shots with some local WVU student and a kids dad and his dads buddy from NY.  As stereotypical long islander as you could find.  Heavy accent and knew nothing about college football.  Pretty sure neither of them have left the island more than 5 times in their life.  Ended up getting a cab to the super 8 sometime later on though i am not sure when that was.
Woke up as excited as we could possibly be and watched everyone on gameday pick the cats and play with Transformer figurines while we ate the crappy continental breakfast and overheard some WVU fans talking about the mines.  Cabbed it downtown around noon and met up with some friends at Fat Daddys for lunch. Even gameday pints were only $2 so we slugged plenty of those.  Hopped on the PRT thing around 3 and headed over to the stadium.  Grabbed a 12 pack at some crappy gas station a few blocks from the stadium and wandered around in the rain over to blue lot.  Heard plenty of "we want the mask" type stuff from drunk students but they were all intimidated by the purple and steered clear of us.  Ended up finding a tailgate that had a couple people in purple so we just started talking to them and migrated around to a few tailgates with mostly WVU folks.  Watched the WVU team do their "Man Walk" into the stadium, they knew they were going to get dominated, i could see it in Geno's eyes.  More food, beer, and shine was offered than we could shake a stick at and I enjoyed pepperoni rolls and stromboli.  Had a few pulls of the Jameson and met Emawblast   Couple of out new Coal Aggie friends showed us around to a few different tastes of shine.  Had watermelon, plain, and apple. Plain is horrible, flavored isnt too bad.  Got over to our spots in the game and snagged a few brews.  Cheered our faces off and laughed as the home fans walked out of the stadium early.  Good atmosphere and decent stadium, i like the shape of the stands and how its pretty tall on both sides.  It was pretty scant on amenities but it didnt matter since you could buy plastic bottles of brew.  After the game we walked over to some bar right across the street and were the only ones in purple in there it seemed like.  Hopped the last PRT back downtown and had a few celebratory shots before we were too drunk to stand and cabbed it back.  Drive to Pitt and plane rides home were horrible.  Lots of EMAW in the airports.  Still not 100% yet today.  Was well worth it and I would say the trip in total rivals the good times we had at the Cotton Bowl thanks to the blowout W.  Cant wait to start the Roadtrip to Fort Worth thread.
