The fact of the matter is, however, that ku is one of the deepest teams I've seen in quite a while. They have 4 or 5 guys on their bench that can come in and chances are, on any given night, at least one of them will be able to contribute 15 points. These guys do a nice job of scoring when they get the opportunity thanks to the attention that guys like Aldrich, Collins, and even Marcus Morris get now.
Four or five is an overstatement. They have three key reserves, Morningstar, Reed and the lesser Morris. I can't think of anyone else making a significant contribution, unless it's Robinson contributing to the amusement of Cat fans, much less score in double figures. They mainly play an eight-man rotation although Robinson has been getting some unproductive minutes lately.
They've had some odd circumstances the past five years that allowed them to keep high school all-american recruits around longer than other schools. It's really what has separated them from the rest of the Big 12 and nationally. Florida and North Carolina benefited from the same thing, until everyone left.
