we desperately need a parking structure and to make it where you cant drive through aggieville. If aggieville turned out to be more like pearl street that would be amazing.

Yes.  I realized a few weeks ago that Aggieville doesn't have any trees.  Or, any landscaping period.  Pretty damn fun.  pretty damn ugly.

aggieville beautification initiative?  I think goEMAW could spearhead this thing.

1.  close Moro from Manhattan to 11th.
2.  plant some trees or something.
3.  make space in front of each business or bar to extend forward into outdoor patio type seating/retail space to fund the thing.
4.  burn down rustys and replace with something else.
5.  party

Pat on the back to the first guy to name the architect or post a rendering.

Oh, man. Could you imagine Moro closed off, with a line of trees running down the middle and patio seating in the shade?   You don't need Moro for traffic purposes really. I'm sure there would be complaints about losing the parking spaces, but there aren't that many.

Hopefully, there's a horrible vehicular accident some night that involves alcohol and then the City decides to close Moro to cars because of the liability.   :crossfingers:

i think they should start by powerwashing the entire district, i'm thinking ~5,000 psi should do the trick

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Good call. Some of the buildings could use a good washing on the inside as well (looking at Rusty's).

lsoc and i have witnessed some pretty horrific accidents due to "drop offs" in front of aggieville pizza hut and would be willing to write another letter to the editor if anyone thinks it would help.

Architect is Anderson-Knight and the engineer is SMH. They're not exactly going to give me the rendering, sorry.

Don't know if this has already been discussed-

The parking lot, which was my main question, is going to be underground. The hotel itself is owned by a private company, so expect it to be a nicer hotel instead of some cookie cutter thing. A Revolive Garden question is still pending, although, I'm pretty confident it will happen.

LOL at the idea of that ever happening.  Walking > two blocks is too much of a mind explosion for our county commish.

Maybe he could be sold on the idea by suggesting to him that it creates some sort of barrier to college kids binge drinking in Aggieville because they would have to walk a couple of blocks to get to their destination. :dunno:

I'm sure you are correct, though.

Walking is a mind explosion... but what about FLOATING. Can someone please whip up a rendering of a lazy river down Moro St?  :excited:

those of you unhappy with MHK government should just quit supporting it, K-State basketball style.  move away to a city run more to your liking.

just an imo.

or we could just openly express and discuss the things that we don't like about it since this a free country and all. seems like there are some options here and a little bit of leeway.
