A new hotel has been approved for Aggieville. Brand has not been announced but it will be located on the NE corner of Bluemont and Manhattan Ave, across the street from Coco Bolos and Starbucks. It will be 72 rooms, conference and meeting rooms, retail space, 5 stories, rooftop patio and underground garage.

Nice hotels. I stay here when I go to Jacksonville. It's prpbably the only thing that keeps me from slitting my wrist while in that shithole town.

Aggieville a few years back developed a plan for more mixed use, high density development called Campus Edge intended for project just like this.

no idea. I just know they do a lot of redev projects and have done a lot of projects in Manhattan and Topeka.

Awesome news. I just hope they don't eff it up. Manhattan development is like the Royals. They give you all the hope in the world and then they build the thing and you're like, what the eff is that thing? i.e. Manhattan Ave. Condos and downtown redevelopment.

or the manhattan town center mall where they said "hey let's tear down a bunch of historic downtown buildings to throw up a mall where people can go to candyopolis, payless shoes and sbarros."

Well, would you look at this, a couple renderings were just released for the rooftop patio. You can tell they're going for a Jones Pool/Hard Rock vibe. Not that it matters in the slightest, but I wonder how much the cabanas will go for.
