Welp, unless somebody shows up at that trailer by 5:30 tonight, I'm already out.  It's still as it was at 9 a.m. this morning. 

I hit Paleteria La Reyna.

man great job trim. sorry to hear about the truck being closed though.  it's that kind of unexpected turn of events that make the la hacienda challenge great but i certainly feel bad for contestants when i hear stories like yours.

welp, just got back from another trip to authenic la hacienda.  got the chips and salsa, also got an order of nachos, and some wings.  also got another authentic mexican taco. this place truly is the bomb.

With all of these la haciendas shutting down in towns across America, the clear favorite to win this competition has got to be pissclams.

he's a frontrunner for sure but unless one of the other judges has verified his local la hacienda, he might be on the outside looking in come closing ceremonies. he needs picture verification and picture of the menu to officially be included and i personally haven't seen either yet. he could be getting all that food from a jose peppers for all i know.

Guys there is no La haciendas in my town.  I'm going to use this quaint local place.  I think it's Irish Mexican.  It's called Carlos O'Kelly's.  Seems pretty authentic.  I'll post pics of what I had later.

i can't really speak for the judges but i don't think this is gonna fly in this challenge - it's clearly for la hacienda.  what are the demographics like in your area?  depending on this, it sounds like la hacienda mexican food may be under-served in your market

yeah i don't think it's gonna work pfkajthutch. sorry. you probably could've substitued chipotle with carlos okellys though fwiw. something to think about next year maybe. again sorry. also and you guys are going to really laugh at me and rib me pretty hard about this, my la hacienda food today will consist of some day old la hacienda chips and salsa. it's a marathon and not a sprint though and i will pick up the pace as we go. please take it easy on me here.

plate is mine. food was eaten via take-out. picture taken halfway through the huarache due to phone needing to be charged before picture being taken. more pictures that were taken at la hacienda to come....
