Schools like Mississippi State, Colorado, Army, Iowa State, and Syracuse all got left out.  Maybe they should not have but in our draft, we felt as if other teams brought more to the table.

I'm not fine with it. I don't want to lose that annual game. We could still schedule them as part of our non-con like we are going to MU in basketball in KC every year but it won't be the same.

You have to think that we have enough pull to get them a spot as well.  I mean, if we put our foot down and say we aren't coming unless they let KU in too they will take both of us.

And depending on how/if they restructure, KU maybe essentially DII.  That would be the one DII we could schedule every year.  It would be nice to be keep our big payouts in state though, never had a chance to do that before

We can't even save our own coaches from some mid-level manager in our own AD dept.  How on earth are we going to spring board KU out of the mire of irrelevance into Conference Elite?

Sometimes, people and schools have to learn how to help themselves.  As Beems points out all the time, they haven't always been horrible in football.  Sometime we have to be held accountable for the choices we make.  :dunno:

The have nots could still put together a very powerful basketball conference.  It's much easier for schools with less of a national presence to be competitive at hoops than football.

A draft by region is strange way of doing this.  I would have listed the top 64 teams, then figured out how to split them up.

As much as I'd miss the rivalry (such as it is), it's time to move on. KU can find itself some nice basketball first league and be very happy, I'm sure.

I smell a fantastic WSU/KU rivalry being set up.

If this happens that's still only 64 teams. What would happen to the rest of the 120 some schools?

Would change schedules and just keep playing for far less money.   :dunno:

Thats crap.  I mean how many of those teams haven't won a BCS bowl in the past decade?  KU doesn't deserve this.

Maybe we could force them (KU) into a spot in the Far West to replace of Fresno or SDSU. We should do what we can to help them out.

How much would it cost to get them to come to Manhattan every year for an all out ass-kicking?

Welp, looks like that Lebron-sized free agent won't be taking its talents to 4x16 Team Conference Elite.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008
