I think Frank would have played WSU if he didn't have to play them at Koch Arena or Intrust Bank Arena as a part of the WSU season ticket package.  Not sure oscar feels the same way.

Probably innacurate.  If Martin wanted to play WSU in Manhattan, I firmly believe that game would have happened.  Likewise with Self, Roy or any other coach at a Kansas school.  The ball is in KU's and KSU's court (pun intended).  For various reasons, they choose not to play little brother.  high risk, low reward.

maybe with frank it was high reward, low risk.  or medium reward, low risk.  or low reward, no risk.

regardless, without this thread, weber wouldn't have been outed as a bold faced liar.  and that is some substantial crap.

I can say with absolute certainty, as close as you can get to Gregg Marshall and Eric Sexton sitting in my living room telling me so, that the only way that WSU would play in Manhattan was with a return game in Koch or Intrust with it being on the WSU season ticket package.  I can't speak to any negotiations with KU, but I'm 100% certain that was WSU's take.  A neutral site contract or a straight up home and home deal were negotiable but a 2 for 1 or just a visit to Manhattan were non-starters for WSU.  They haven't done deals like that with anyone under Marshall and that won't change.

Don't have a problem with it.  Losing to a high RPI mid-major program from California is one thing.

gonzaga isn't in california.  it's a catholic institution located in austria, germany.

It appears so.  I really don't care if KSU plays WSU it would in no way shape or form effect me in any manner whatsoever.  I've been on Shockernet three times in my life.

The only time WSU wants to play KSU or ku is when they think they're good.

Back in the 90's after a series of crushing defeats at the hands of ku, WSU slinked/slunk off and quietly found another game and ku didn't know until they saw WSU's schedule release and realized that ku wasn't on it.

Jim Wooldridge had a 2 game winning streak against Turdgeon when he was there.

After that KSU offered WSU a 3 for 2 and they said no. That was more than fair, even with how terrible K-State was at the time.

I don't have the facts to back this up, but I find it hard to imagine many BCS schools contract home and home deals with mid-majors.  Marshall has done some nice stuff at WSU.  So did Turd.  And, I root for WSU when they're on TV.

But, if your account is true, then I think WSU is a bit off their rocker.  Or, they don't have any real interest in playing KSU.  Mid-majors don't demand home and home with BCS schools.  Just my take.

We really wasted an opportunity for a great rivalry there when all was said and done.

I think the problem is that WSU thinks they are on par with Gonzaga or Xavier in the mid-major world of college basketball. But Turgeon's nice run and last year's appearance are their only 2 NCAA appearances since 1990. Of course they have that NIT championship, I guess.

They had a home-home with Providence, and they were pretty pumped.

I agree 100%.  WSU isn't without blame, when it comes to what they could have had with Frank here they are nearly completely to blame.  That's Marshall though, he has a massive ego, even for a college basketball coach.  His "negotiation" with South Carolina is classic Gregg Marshall and his over-inflated sense of self.
