Bowl Wins

Am I wrong when I think it's dumb as hell to use "bowl wins" as a metric for a program?  I'm probably biased seeing as we haven't had many lately, but I mean, does Missouri feel better than us about last season because they won the Independence Bowl and we lost the Cotton Bowl?

there is nothing wrong with winning all season and earning a top tier bowl against an elite opponent.  and there is certainly no shame in losing it.
