Kc restaurant suggestions
« Reply #125 on: May 07, 2012, 10:35:01 PM »
R Bar closed last weekend. :frown:

The guy who was the chef left a while ago anyways. He opened a butcher shop in the East Bottoms called Local Pig. It's fantastic.

i've been twice.
the first time i just got some jalapeno bacon.  it was basically incredible.
then three weeks ago i picked up two pork shoulders, two slabs of ribs, some spicy  sausage, and two campo lindo chickens.

they literally brought the pig in and will slaughter the pig right in front of you.  all in all, it's pretty kick rough ridin' ass but it's expensive.

It's amazing that I can go in there and spend $20 just on sausages. Sage/Ginger, Cotechino, bacon/chive/swiss  :excited:
ya that crap I listed out was like $250 bones - definitely wont replace Costco in my meat rotation, that's what she said

harrahs  :flush:

If you like to gamble and you are downtown it beats the Isle

how does argosy compare to both of those

My rankings, keep in mind these are based off of the amount of cigarette smoke I have to inhale while I'm there and the amount of money I've won or lost there:

1. Hollywood
2. Ameristar
3. Argosy
4. Harrahs

I've never been to Isle of Capri even though I live like 3 miles from it.

My rankings are as folllows, two lists based on where I am at the time

Around my house in PV area

1.Argosy
2.Hollywood
3.Harrahs
4.Ameristar
NR.Isle of Capri

Getting pak'd at Plaza/Westport/Downtown
1. Harrahs
2. Argosy
3. Ameristar
4. Hollywood
5. Isle of Capri

The only time I have been to Isle of Capri was on St Pattys day this year around 5pm hammered. It kind of has a dungeon feel to it, worst part was it took 30 minutes to get a cab when we wanted to leave.

Isle of Capri is only for very very old and very very poor people. Lots of baggy sweats, walkers, auto-tinting glasses, etc. If you meet one of those two requirements you will probably have a great time there.

guess they have a new menu.  It wasn't bad, but probably not good enough for a return visit given the options in KC.
did have Beer Kitchen for breakfast.  The breakfast enchiladas were

I'd be happy just eating their lobster Mac and cheese for the rest of my life (if Jesus would make them low carb).

love their mac & cheese, they had it on the buffet.  today's stars were the kona crusted tenderloin and the lobster eggs benedict

it's possible that it's the best, but it's not the best.  capital's blows the bristol's out of the water.
bristol is good but no.
