R Bar closed last weekend. :frown:

The guy who was the chef left a while ago anyways. He opened a butcher shop in the East Bottoms called Local Pig. It's fantastic.

i've been twice.
the first time i just got some jalapeno bacon.  it was basically incredible.
then three weeks ago i picked up two pork shoulders, two slabs of ribs, some spicy  sausage, and two campo lindo chickens.

they literally brought the pig in and will slaughter the pig right in front of you.  all in all, it's pretty kick rough ridin' ass but it's expensive.

It's amazing that I can go in there and spend $20 just on sausages. Sage/Ginger, Cotechino, bacon/chive/swiss  :excited:

michigancat,

Catching up on Carolla podcasts.  A month ago or so he was in KC for a show and on the podcast thereafter, he raved about oklahoma joe's IN A GAS STATION IN A STRIP MALL.

:surprised:

The gas station is stand alone, but it is next to strip mall.

:surprised:

actually it technically can be considered a strip mall since the gas station isn't stand alone

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Geebus, if you want to look like you're not trying too hard but still want a great meal.  Go to RJ's at Lamar and Johnson Ave.  Usually not busy and has the best BBQ around.  that is all/thread

welp, looks like i've probably bumped into bloodfart a time or two..

Thank you for all the suggestions,

Thursday- Bristol, not my choice and it kinda sucked, put the wives to bed and went to Harrahs
Friday- golf at staley farms, place has turned to a shithole, dinner at Garozos, pretty good, ended up with a $600 tab after losing credit card derby,
wives go to bed early because of warrior dash the next day, boys to Harrahs, buddy wins $2500 at blackjack in an hour and we hit the P and L
after some drinks and finger food, everyone pretty hammered at this point we go back to Harrahs where buddy wins another $2500 in an hour.
Saturday- Drag ass to the warrior dash and watch wives slop around in the mud while drinking miller lite and knawing on smoked turkey legs.  Dinner
at Jackstack which was honestly kind of a letdown, ordered Jacks best, it was OK but was really expecting to be blown away, stopped by
Cashews for some drinks, then to the p&l, Oh and won credit card derby at Jackstacks and the crowd was going wild.

Didn't make it to bed before 4am all weekend, a good time was had by all.
it’s not like I’m tired of WINNING, but dude, let me catch my breath.

Congrats on taking approximately none of our advice. The Cashew and Harrah's? Really?

Somebody's buddy owns Cashew, the boys like to gamble, Garozos was already in the mix, so the only thing I pressed was Jackstack.

I mean the guy spent most of his time drinking @ P&L and harrahs so I would say the Cashew is pretty good. Not sure where you drink in KC though.

Bristol is good.  Shew is good for drinks.  Having wives that think doing the warrior dash is neat, cute or fun is  :flush:
