That's good to hear, I used to frequent Ollie's but haven't been to Cliff's much at all

The highest compliment I can pay a dish is damn I need to figure out how to make this at home and the soup made me say that.  The owner is always there, trying new stuff.  Good local beer selection.  I am going to go back

Cliff's is just down the road from me and I've been curious.  Now I'll definitely give it a go

How was Chingu?  I enjoyed the takeout.

Also, I have a group of 7 this weekend for the Chiefs game.  So far, we're planning on Fox & Pearl, Q39, and Pigwich.  Any other recommendations, particularly for a place to drink/snack at?  I was thinking of just doing Parlor.

Chingu was really great, i'll be back v soon. it's the first new place in westport in quite a while i've been really jazzed about

everything on the menu is intended to be a bunch of shared plates

pork dumplings - excellent, served on a bed of stir fried vegetables
korean pancakes - fantastic, served with a sauce made of soy + sake
kfc wings - the star of the show, almost too much. 6 enormous wings with like a solid inch thick double fried batter, lol. try not to eat too much of whatever apps you get because these are not as good as leftovers

everything is served with kimchi, pickled onions, some fresh greens, bean sprouts, and rice. and our server gave us some lemon sponge cake for dessert at the end. it's a lot of food and everything was really top notch.

Parlor is a good choice. easy access to King G, Emperial, and/or Casual Animal for spots with cool ambiance and room for 7. it should be pretty nice on saturday to bar hop around xroads.

Went there last night, excellent food.  We had the Pajeon (pancake) and Bossam (pork belly) which were amazing.  The  Mandu Bokem (dumplings) was a good dish, but probably our least favorite of the 3.

I need to come to KC in a couple of week to do some shopping at your stores that recently had a "change of policy" on who could purchase their products.  Is the Woodyard BBQ good? I've seen them on food channel shows throughout the years but have never been or really saw any recommendations from you KC peeps.

It's okay. I've not been blown away by it but always done carry out so maybe part of it. It's a unique place.

I went there about 10 days ago and it was extremely mediocre.  Plenty better.

I like Woodyard's onion rings.

But there's nothing a guy can get there that they can't get better somewhere else.  Go there to try it out/experience the atmosphere, but don't expect a life changing experience.

IMO.

Not a fan of LC's. In fact I thought you all were trolling me when I went there before a Royals game a few years back.

I stand by my previous review and endorsement of LC's on this blog.   :don'tcare:

It's a really cool idea for a nice-ish night out. We just got drinks but their food looked good and I want to go back for food.
