Spent the weekend in KC for a bro's bachelor party. We stayed at Harrah's so I tried Gordon Ramsay's Steak twice. Got the prix fixe one night and the A5 Wagyu and king crab another night. Prix fixe was good. The beef wellington was my least favorite thing though, tbh. Maybe I just don't like beef wellington much. The sticky toffee dessert was perhaps the best dessert I've ever eaten. The A5 Wagyu was pretty amazeballs. When people say you can cut it with a fork they aren't lying. That being said, I tried someone else's dry aged prime KC strip and I would be more inclined to order that in the future even if money were no object.

Had SLAPS on the way out of town. Burnt Ends and jalapeno sausage combo plate w/ a rib bone added. Mac n chz and potato casserole for sides. First time having SLAPS and I get the hype. The ribs impressed me the least out of everything and that's not to say they weren't good.

Pretty great weekend overall. 6.8/7

Thats good to hear about Harrah's, I saw that place but was not sure if it was a tourist trap or not.

He's got another one in Vegas at the Paris. One of the guys in the party said he'd tried it there and thought this one was better. Definitely wouldn't call it a tourist trap. Wine pairings and service were top notch.

Did it fall apart when you tried to eat it? There's a place in Manhattan that opened (the Harry's/B&B people) that have a very similar looking menu. The food is impossible to eat without a fork and knife. It tastes good but calling it a sandwich is silly if I can't eat it with two hands.

I would see friends go there and tried it.  I agree with you.  It seemed more about putting on a show instagram than actually tasting great.

I recommend Sushi Den/Izakaya Den if you're still up there.

it held together pretty well, just lacked those delicious flavors that i crave and had other, non-delicious flavors which i try to steer clear of

Didn't see my bud @mocat at Extra Virgin Rose night last night, it was my first of the year and delicious as always.

EV is changing up the menu completely I've been told by Mr. Smith himself.  Going way more mediterranean.
