anybody rocking restaurant week? so far, have had:

Jax Fish House & Oyster bar - 6/7
Aixois - 4/7 food was fine, they weren't prepared for packed house at lunch though, very slow
Novel - 7/7 outstanding
Capital Grille - 6/7

I have reservations at Capital Grill and JJ's this week.

What was good on the Capital restaurant week menu?

Lidia's last night 6/7. Very nice and enjoyed the food, not as much as the young lady I was with enjoyed it though, she really liked it.

i went with some friends and didn't choose to go there and it is good food, but i wouldn't pick it just because it's pretty standard stuff.

appetizer - wedge w bleu chz/caesar salad/clam chowder. all looked fine.
entree - steak/chicken/salmon/pork. take your pick. all looked good. i had the 8 oz filet, medium rare, and added a lobster tail for $10. it was good. also comes with green beans and mashed potatoes.
dessert - chocolate flourless cake/creme bruleee. i had the chocolate cake and it was very good.

So much for that cleanse.  :D JK. I had some really shitty Chinese food last night and it was great!

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I am having some regret about my JJ's choice for this week.  The menu doesn't look terribly enticing, but that's restaurant week for you I guess.

DINNER MENU
Choice of 1 appetizer, 1 entree and 1 dessert

Appetizer
Paco Shrimp (2)
Mushroom Toast

Entrees
Boar Ragu
Chicken Marsala
Fish of the Day

Dessert
Chocolate Mousse

It does kinda suck.  It's just a way to spice up the otherwise hohum post holiday time and drive some sales.  I don't blame them.

I guess the JJ menu isn't that bad.  I haven't had any of those items, even though they are apparently staples at JJ's.

As for Capital, I suppose I'll do the filet and ask for it MR even though on a busy restaurant week night it's likely to get over cooked.

Trezo Mare - 5/7
Calamari was weird, big like mozzarella sticks not the little rings/tentacles like I'm used to. En Fuego was very good, broth made it all tasty. Tiramisu was ok, but I've had better. Service was good, not packed.

I want to try BLVD tavern this week but may wait until next because their normal menu interests me more

every day is restaurant week for me

Every day you get a bad menu at an average price and deal with the unwashed trying out that "fancy restaurant they read about in the paper"? godspeed clams.

Restaurant week sucks.

Lol yeah I figured... Just was the best way I found to hate on restaurant week. I'm embarrassed at my dining out figure at the end of the year.

Have you guys tried Fritz's Railroad Restaurant?  It's cool because a train brings you your food and you get to wear a conductor hat (until your kid whines and cries too much and you have to give it back to them)
