taco pubs is pretty good, not great, too expensive, but it's closer than state ave.  why drive way up to KCK to save a buck on a taco, not me.

Just took my mom for a little South of the Border Mother's Day brunch, yep, at you guessed it, JPs.  Jose (the owner) came out and greeted us and even presented my mom with a Mother's Day rose with her complimentary marg.

Anton's for a graduation party tonight.  Good beer list, food was inconsistent, lots of overdone/underdone stuff.

Yeah I enjoyed it, but I don't like $12 sandwiches without sides. The pulled pork was rather tasty.

Currently on a not really planned BBQ weekend. Ate at Jon Russels last night, half chicken special. Then went to Woodyard tonightand got a Pulled pork and sausage sammie with a couple chicken wings on the side.

I thought the pulled pork was too salty when I tried it but overall pretty good

I went to Drunken Worm tonight, and enjoyed. It's a cute little Taco Lucha-esque place in the 39th street neighborhood. It's owned by some EMAWs who also own (owned?) Johns Big Deck (R.I.P). I had a pulled pork taco and it was great. Very cheap food too. Also, they were giving out free tequila shots as samples every 30 minutes, which was great.

eating it now- the judge's plate.  basically a sampler platter.  ribs (increds), pulled pork (much better than last time), brisket (increds). fries w/ homemade chipotle ketchup.

The pricing turned me off, but I did like the trash bag beer can idea. That was cool.

I'll be in KC for some Royals games during the Yankee series, I want to take my NY family to BBQ.  I'm thinking Jack's Stack. Was considering OK Joes, but wanted something a little nicer. Other suggestions?  We're open to something other than BBQ, but thought that would be a good choice.

We've taken them to:
Arthur Bryants- :Yuck:
Gates- :dubious:

Must see attractions. Go to jack stack if you want something nicer, but ok joes is the best you know it. If they don't mind being crowded, Grinders is a must stop. Best philly and wings in the area. Also, if you need something upscale one night and a nice steak, Antons is right downtown for you.
