The wait is almost over.  I can walk to it from my house.   :Woohoo:

they closed the first one just months before I moved out by it  :bang:

why is this one different?

Was working at the bolo's in MHK when it closed.

Story I heard was

1. Bad Economy

2. There was construction going on at the intersection(135th and antioch?) when it opened that made it hard to access.

Ale house is pretty overpriced for what it is. Pretty meh. I'll stick with beer kitchen.

it still is pretty awful - it's a fairly small interior space in a very nondescript strip filled with dental and real estate offices with no visibility from Nall and limited from 151st.  That spot does have a great patio tho.

I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Oh. I thought you meant Ta Town as in the entire city of Wichita. As if they had one in Wichita and it closed. I don't keep up with weirdos on the Phog. What a terrible thread. They are pissed that it's not another run of the mill giant TV's and darts bar. So strange.

I heard the food is pretty good and bottle selection is top notch. The cool thing is I think you can walk in and get 6-packs to go. A great think for those who live close in Westport and enjoy good beer and a walk to Gomer's Midtown is too far. I'm anxious to try it out.

Started with the Roasted Beet Risotto (beef tongue, creme fraiche, watercress) - Probably the best thing I had that night.
Mrs. WNK ordered Rare Hare Barn Rabbit Cacciatore (bacon, braised kale, local polenta, olive bread) There were a few hidden bites of bones in the mix that the wife couldn't handle.  We switched meals.
I ordered Crispy Beef Cheeks (creamed hominy, grilled escarole, horseradish-Dijon aioli)  it was pretty good, but overcooked.

One guest at our table had Cauliflower-Parmesan Sformato (grated Marcona almond, lemon brown butter, crispy potatoes, capers, swiss chard) which was probably the best Entree at the table.

It was good, but not good enough to go back and throw down a Benjamin anytime soon.  I'll eventually give it another chance.

The quaff downtown sales liqour. It's always nice to run right next door when you're getting low in the middle of a bender.
