"a nickelback song" is the winner.

I celebrate their entire catalog.  Achy Breaky Heart ranks pretty high up there but then again I hate all country music.

I would disagree.  Its bland, predictable, music for the masses.  Completely forgettable.  The worst song ever made sticks with you, attaches itself to you not letting go like a bad cold.  I don't get that from the Nickelbacks of the world.  I hear it, shrug, and forget it.

I forgot how bad some 90s music was, so I googled it.  After reviewing the top 100 songs of the 90s I can't decide between these 3:

Counting Crows: Big Yellow Taxi
Spin Doctors: Two Princes
Spin Doctors: Little Miss Can't Be Wrong

Note: I left out "Truely Madly Deeply" and "I Love You Always Forever" (#2 and #4 of the 90s) because I don't think either of those qualify as a song.

I get what you're saying, but all the songs mentioned here have been "hits" played on the radio tons of times.  If we want to set the bar higher (lower??) we could limit discussion to worst songs to be #1 or worst song to ever win a Grammy or something like that.
