eff lowering the field, etc.  that won't really solve the issue at memorial.  why not close the east side of memorial down and redo it.  just force the fans into the bowl and the west side and the hill.
would suck for a year or whatever but then do the same thing for the west side.  then build up the pressboxes/suites in the bowl or whaever.

would be able to keep the campus location that way too.

doing a phased approach like we are also helps with fundraising.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

i agree...it would cost probably $250mil+ for a new stadium and KU would probably have to play a season in Arrowhead, blah!

Why play in Arrowhead when BSFS is available on Friday nights?

here's a pretty elegant solution to the idea raised in the NDSU thread about starting an EMAW FCS team.  we could just move KU over to Memorial Stadium in Manhattan, put them in purple and call them the K-State Wildhawks.  they could compete at the FCS level and would probably do pretty well.  then KU fans don't have to go to football games anymore, we can just support both.

honestly if I was a KU Hawk fan, (thank God I am not) I would LOVE to abandon Memorial for a season in Arrowhead if that meant a brand new stadium.

i am becoming more and more convinced that kstate and ku reached a gentlemans agreement two years ago where kstate would get the fball team and ku would get the bball team. they hired chaz. we hired bweb. the redid allan (sp?). we build a kabillion dollar pressbox. it's sad to say but my money is on lawrence highschool playing on that ku field ten years from now and then freestate gets their own. jmo.

Could be something to this.  Probs didn't want to axe either team due to the minor riot on their hands; meanwhile, they get to keep the fan situation at manageable levels for a state this size with two flagships.

The chain-link fence with blue tarp draped over it always confused me.  T's and P's to lil' bro in hopes they can start doing better stuff to their stadium.

Honestly, I think the seats opposite of the press box is the worst thing, even worse than the track. It's seriously a depressing look from outside the stadium.

Might be fun to play a giant Connect Four game on it though.

They'll also probably lower the field so that they can bring the seats in closer to the action.
Also to get a better smell of the pile of crap

I think they should just move the field/stadium over to the hill. Enclose the bowl over there with the hill as support. They can keep their beautiful campus backdrop, have phased remodel, and flip the track 90 degrees. and it can be on the other side of the stadium. Boom problem solved.

Goodnight everyone.

I like how Ku fans all think there's just loose dirt ready for excavation below the field.  I mean, it stinks pretty bad other, so maybe the sewage actually does just leach out into the surrounding "ecology", but I still gotta think theres plenty of aged "infrasture" to.deal with.
