I didn't think it would be a show stopper, but it does sound like a sleazeball deal, but there's lots of sleazeball deals out there like this these days with the taxpayers footing huge chunks of the bill and getting the least amount of utilization.

The taxpayers get a 181,000 sq ft rec center facility and 26+ acres of land.

Sometimes I think to myself, "I can't believe KU has a track around their football field in 2013."

Welcome to Lawrentucky, the sleaziest place on earth.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Not everyone can be a "have" when it comes to football stadiums.  There are the K-States, OUs, OSUs and Texases of the world, then there are the ISUs and KUs.  The rich aren't truly "rich" unless you have some poors to compare them to.  It takes all kinds. You take the good you take the bad you take them both and then you have the facts of life.  The facts of life.

K-State's stadium is garbage.  Just a hole in the ground surrounded by a parking lot and prairie land.  Thank God they demolished the tiny pressbox and gave the dump a bit of a facelift.  KU's stadium puts the hole in the middle of a parking lot to shame.

Quote
To be blunt, the atmosphere at LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium is without a doubt one of the most underappreciated in college football. While it can't come close to matching the likes of LSU's Tiger Stadium or Michigan's Big House in sheer numbers, it comes close in participation, excitement, and "" for lack of a better term "" blood thirst. K-State's, surely, is an atmosphere that should not be missed.

BSFS does look nice and i'm sure it'll be pretty badass when completed. I agree with everyone, Memorial in lawrence needs a big revamp and it's getting there, Weis even said the other day that he has seien some of the plans. The really only good thing about it is the location, it's on campus and has a damn nice view. Rumors are the estimated cost of the Memorial upgrades is going to be around $150 million. So i'm expecting quite a bit of things to be done and should be pretty nice when completed.
