Who knows, oscar Weber could turn out to be great. There's no reason to expect it, but stranger things have happened.

What stranger things have happened?

A high major school coming off 3 straight NCAA appearances hiring a coach who had just been fired from another high major school. And a high major coach leaving a school that had made 3 straight tournaments for another high major school that hadn't made an appearance in 8 years

When you sum it up like that I

Two questions?

1. Do you believe JC has KSU's best interest at heart?

2. Do you believe his hire reflects this?

That is all I care about, and my unfortunate answer is no.

But this hire is terrible. oscar Weber is terrible. And in the end when it's proven correct, then you have to ask yourself: Who actually did more damage to KSU?

A guy who broke a sink or organized a protest banner? Or the guy who hired the guy who sent KSU basketball back to the shitter?

it wouldn't have happened at all if whoever organized that sideshow had moved the ice and smoothie machines from out in front of the tv and had turned the volume to an acceptable level. perhaps the whole thing was rushed just a little bit

listening to oscar on kk today he talked about being at the FF and speaking with currie and mentioning that Friday night Currie Rushing or something of the sort to get all this done. That's bullshit, this was no search.

it is not possible to support kstate athletics without supporting currie.  they are one and the same, the only rational response possible to someone who loves kstate basketball is to hope currie and weber fail as quickly and spectacularly as possible.  let them die, kstate will still be here when they are gone.

I would argue that TG was not a known commodity.  We have a fairly good track record of what we just got with BW.

Guys, if you really hate Currie and want him gone (totally reasonable and I agree), then shouldn't we want Weber to succeed greatly for two seasons and allow Currie to take off for greener pastures? Then we might attract an actually good AD who might care about KSU basketball while Currie can burn some other unsuspecting place to the ground.

This seems infinitely more likely to happen than Weber being awful and Currie being fired quickly. Schulz is culpable here. He knows that. He's going to let it play out until it's indisputably a failure and even then I'm not sure Currie would be gone if he's bringing in money as he has to this point.

I know it's unlikely, but should oscar Weber prove to be a good hire in subsequent years, wouldn't that make us happy? I like K-State hoops to be good. And should he not, then at least we'd have a good chance at having a new AD in place to make the next hire once Currie has left with Weber hire initially deemed a success.

This whole "I hope the basketball team sucks today so Currie is fired" thing really doesn't make much sense to me. If this ship is sinking, don't we want it to be at the bottom of the shallow end so we can pull it back out pretty quickly instead of having it at the pit of the ocean?

K-State always comes first for me, not an AD or a coach. I'm willing to let BW prove his worth before I judge him or Currie's hire. K-State has just had arguably the two best overall seasons in Athletics in school history back-to-back. And some of you I truly believe would physically injure Currie gleefully because a goddam TV ANALYST wasn't hired as a coach. Just... pathetic.

Who would have thought any different between 3 days and 5 days or 7 days? Don't say it's because of the players... for fucks sake. From what we've heard, they were just happy Frank was gone. There's too much about this hire to just turn a blind eye to. Bottom line, John Currie either got played and is partially incompetent at his job or John Currie Thinks You're Stupid™.
