I have cherished the resurgence of EMAW hoops. It's been indescribable for me how much I have loved it.

I have no way to completely describe how much I am saddened by this hire.

To hire someone who has proven that he's hapless at college basketball's lifeblood, recruiting, is beyond my understanding. If you can't recruit to Illinois, how can recruit to Kansas State?

The logic that I see here is that John Currie has accepted meritocracy, or worse. He's got football in the bag (for the moment) and merely looking to bring in someone who won't finish dead last in the Big 12....just be another Wooldridge.

We deserve better. Take a risk. Risk to achieve excellence. Risk it.

Yeah, it's very sad now, but I can't imagine how bad it will be in 5yrs when we are completely irrelevant and I look back to how good we were. I can't imagine.

Basketball is very important to me. Even in the 90's I would tell my roomates that I would gladly trade the fb team for an awesome BB team. We had a very good one, and now it's gone.

I feel cheated, but by someone I felt close to.

here's the problem.....all of you that are on campus or live nearby can NOT buy tickets and go to games next season. If you do, then none of this hurt and anger matters.

Honestly Schulz strikes me as a guy who doesn't even know the rules to the game. I bet trying to talk sports with him is awkward for him.

Pete,

I agree and think it's fair to suggest that we will be committed to mediocrity until roughly everyone besides 90% of goEMAW'rs take a dirt nap. This could take the better part of the rest of this century. It hurts to say that the good, honest, hard-working and shy/humble nature of the majority of our fan base is what will continue, ultimately, to do us in.

Frank brought us a successful cable and network television reality show, filled with likeable/loveable characters and constant drama. Our administration and big donors decided that kind of exposure wasn't for them. Only when the new generation of EMAW with deep pockets and a firm grip on how the world works outside of the Midwest is in control, can we reasonably expect to compete.

Tell me if this is wrong... I just think PowerTuck Nation is too oppressive to overcome right now.

Yes, I believe that Shulz actually thinks this is a good hire. I really do not believe that he understands how college basketball works...he just sees Weber's success with Bill Self's recruits, and doesn't put two and two together.

Currie reminds me of our ex-AD, Ron Guenther. He got burned by a couple of coaches that left so now he wants the "safe" hire. The guy who will never leave (no matter how much you want him too). I understand the meltdowns but a lot of your success or failure next year will be in how much of your current team stays and how much they buy in to Weber's system... such as it is. You guys have one heck of a point guard, something Weber could never recruit at Illinois and that's key to his motionless offense.

john currie took a program that went to elite eights, hosted college gameday, had their coach on the set of cbs during the tournament, and went to the tourney 4/5 years and killed it. killed it in basically a week. we are now irrelevant.

KK and I just had a good convo about this. We were 20 years behind when Huggy got here. Huggs and Frank erased a lot of that deficit. And with one week, all of that was undone. We're right back to where we were in 2007 when we had some solid players but an uncertain future. The problem is, in 2007 our ship was adrift and trying not to hit icebergs. Now, we've already hit a couple and are taking on water. It's just awful.

I am sick, sad, devastated, full of despair - words can not describe the anguish I am feeling. What scares the hell out of me is that I'm not sure any of us can fully comprehend the magnitude of negative ripples this hire is going to have on our university for a very, very long time.

One thing is painfully clear - the egotistical, slimy excuse for a human, John Currie, is not a KStater, will never be a KStater and does not care one eff about our university or the true KSU fans. The longer he remains as AD, the more pain we will have to endure, and I'm not sure how much more I can take.

The problem is we lose young EMAWS to tucks every day. Just saw a post my a frat bro of mine (on gopo) who is now a wealthy donor in Manhattan and he is a full on tuck. We are not gaining ranks like we should be.

Spot-on. I have grown to love KSU hoops and it was not only a GREAT product, BUT everyone loved us and we were all in love with ourselves. Now i want to eat some crystal drain-o and chase it with a gallon of bleach. Thanks JC for rough ridin' us in the ass.
