I stopped by just to say my goodbye to Ernie Barrett.  It was somber.  They didn't even have a grill (think they had jew dogs, but no grill).  Some nice pro-Gottlieb headbands were being handed out.  I was too depressed to even take one.  About 15 people there from 1-1:15.

Kudos to the people who did this/attempted to.  I believe it forced Currie to push up the presser and make the announcer.  Its of little solace right now, and it is not the outcome we had hoped for, but it did forced Currie's hand.  You took action and it had an impact on the KSU AD.  We will do more, we will do better going forward.

i think it's both. weber himself said that it was a whirlwind and that he thought he'd be in new orleans tonight. it's just such an embarassingly bad hire that you might as well just wake up saturday morning, call a press conference, not announce anything and then just get in and  out as fast as possible. the hire was embarassing, the timing of the press conference was embarassing, the lack of press and putting out information about it beforehand was embarassing.

i mean, there was no actual announcement about what this thing was even about. i mean people knew from twitter and whatever but no release from the AD. i mean crap, greg hall was tweeting that he thought it was steve alford a mere two hours before the actual press conference. it's all a joke. and kstate basketball fans are on the receiving end.

My thought is, why do you bury the story?  Was Currie really not proud of his hire?  I have to at least believe that Currie thinks it is a good hire.  He wasn't going to bury the story from the K-State fans that were already supporting someone else or would hate it.  He would just be burying it from national media, which he probably thinks would support the hire.

I seriously think it was done to go against the Gottlieb rally.
