some nice renderings of football expansion that hasn't been funded

It's been funded.

To say it's been funded is completely inaccurate.

It's been financially projected through estimated donations to service the debt.  And the $50 million in bonds the project is reliant upon have not been sold.

Enough funding has been secured to proceed.

Enough funding to proceed and enough funding to build the project are two entirely different things.

NBAF has enough funding to pay the consultants and to do some site work.  The project is not funded.

The West side project will be built when the $50 million in bonds are actually insured and sold and we can prove our capacity to service the debt through private donations.  This project needs $25 million in private financial commitment and that is far from being attained.  To say otherwise is misleading.

CC said in the coaching search thread that the trash story is legit

CC also said we had all the funding.

The trash story is rough ridin' bullshit, people. As ridiculous and implausible as it is, all you need to do in order to determine that it is bullshit is to go back and watch Currie's reaction to those questions. That [redacted] was lying and it was as Ann as the nose on Plain's face.

It's hard to tell what people are lying about when they have to withhold most of the details and aren't even sure if they should be talking about it in the first place (hint: a better AD would have said "no comment" and never mentioned the receipt).

Wouldn't say far from being attained. But whatever. It's happening, that's mainly what I was trying to get across. Little to no chance it falls apart Gridiron Club style now.

The way this whole thing happened so quickly makes me think there might be some overhanging NCAA violations. The comments Frank had over the weekend plus his expedited departure to South Carolina make it seem like he was in a hurry to leave/pushed out.

As a head coach you don't just leave within a week and a half from exiting the NCAA tournament especially what he would have coming back. I hate to say it but there has to be something extra in this story that no one outside the administration knows about. This kind of reminds me of the Kelvin Sampson situation where sanctions may follow Frank to SC.

What does the NBAF have to do with anything?

Is anyone interested in what players (if any) went to Currie?  Have we discussed this?
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

I think everyone is interested, but there are never going to be any answers there.

What does the NBAF have to do with anything?

An example of the difference between a funded project and enough funding in place to proceed with design and some basic project start up.

CC, said the West Side project was funded.  It's not.  People should just understand that we need $50 million in bonds and $25 million in private donations and neither are a certainty.  For example, IF something unforeseen occurs and this economy double dips in the next 6 months and we can't achieve a Triple A rating, the bonds won't be sold.

I'm not saying we're heading down the path of the Gridiron Club, I'm simply saying that nothing is a certainty (like NBAF) and we should be cautious about making statements about the project being funded when in actuality, it hasn't.

This may have already been discussed but is there anything from stopping Jamar from telling his side of the story? He has no ties to K-State Ahletics anymore...?

Currie quickly shut down any discussion about whether this was a one time payment or not.  "Forward looking."  I doubt any party wants to dig.  "I wish [the receipt] had stayed there [in the trash]."

Oh Bullshit, some of you guys are over reacting little babies.

They are answering tough questions, one of the last times K-State had a press conference like this the rough ridin' president and AD got up there and cried . . . cried like little school girls.

Sorry, Frank is NO LONGER EMAW . . . Understand NO LONGER EMAW.

I get sick of people who make coaches out to be bigger than Kansas State, they aren't.

Hate on Currie or even Schulz, but as of right now, they ARE EMAW, FRANK MARTIN IS NOT!!

The bonds have already been rated A1 Wabash, not even the State of Kansas has a Triple A rating.

this is a complete circus and makes currie shultz look completely incompetent.

i actually disagree. schulz killed it!

Schulz really did a good job. Currie is simply put himself in a no-win situation at this point.

No doubt the receipt was in trash or on floor.  The process that took place in finding it and delivering it to the compliance dept is the part that is full of the most bullshit.  this is the process a new coach will be the most concerned about.
