I have a hard time believing that. Currie and Frank didn't even like each other. I don't think Currie had the personal relationship with Frank to know that Frank would take the South Carolina job, and it's pretty obvious that better programs just aren't interested in Frank. That whole plan really would have backfired if Frank had stayed.
The most obvious answer is that somebody who personally knew Jamar but did not like him happened to see him getting money at Western Union, saw him discard the receipt, and then picked up the receipt and turned Jamar in so that he wouldn't get to play his final game.
