How should we feel about him denying the USC stuff without really denying it? I'm still worried 

He didn't come close to denying it, he was closer to confirming it than denying it.  The only thing we can take from that was remotely positive was he gave the appearance that he thought Currie's hands were tied with Jamar.

No way.  He handled it fantastically and he's staying.  No way he does all that if he's leaving.

does all what? act like he's a good employee that understands that a university has to do what it has to do? you don't know if he's saying that as a shout out to kstate or a "hey i'm a very understanding easy to work with guy" for possible future employers.

exactly rd.  what else was he going to say?  it was the least relevant interview/statement ever.  outside of the small chance he says something crazy/self-detrimental there was nothing that was going to be said that I couldn't have scripted. Now, psych pros could maybe have read something from it that someone like me couldn't but outside of that it was a waste of my time (other than me enjoying the crap out of watching him say it)

I AM using common sense. You have to be pretty naive if you thought Martin seemed even remotely interested in SC by the comments he just made on national TV audience. I thought he was pretty cut and dry. He had the opportunity to make us look good and he did just the opposite.
