We should be absolutely thrilled if Nike wants to continue doing business with such a ridiculously small-timey organization like Kansas State University.  This Jamar ordeal is roughly on the same level as the QB of a high school team getting suspended because someone saw him drinking a beer out at the lake.

If it comes down to adidas offering a $28 million contract for all sports over the course of six years, or Nike offering $22 million for the same type of deal, would you really choose Nike?
Without a doubt, yes.

Why?  So you can have a swoosh on your shirt instead of three stripes?  I'd rather have an extra $6 million, but hey, that's just me.

$6 million? You forget that you're on a school's message board that is drowning in profits. Absolutely drowning.

Do you know what profit entails?  It's basically revenues minus expenses.  K-State is basically sitting on a bunch of money because you're not upgrading facilities or paying your head coaches a competitive salary.

What if we're only paying one football coach a decent salary instead of three head football coaches salaries? Does that help?

I would take the extra $6 million, even if Russell wants to make shitty uniforms for us. Maybe that's just me, though.

look, i don't own anything nike, and a billion adidas things.

but anytime you see a team on tv and they aren't wearing nike, don't you just snicker a little and wonder why nike doesn't want them?

I will be devastated if we ever switch from Nike. DEVASTATED. I would rather pay Nike to wear their uniforms than to get paid to wear Adidas or Under Armour or any other small-time, shitty brand.

I'd take the extra six if we somehow used it to give the fball and bball team insanely and  I mean just insanely nice stuff/things.

I own way more Adidas and New Balance shoes than Nike but zero items of Adidas or New Balance apparel.  Love my Nike KState hoodies, tees, shorts, etc.  Especially in regards to b-ball, Nike's stuff is so much more elite than everyone else it's not een funny.  Oregon's super bright yellow/green stuff?  rough ridin' awesome.  Baylor's Adidas stuff?  eff that crap.  #teamnikeatwhatevercost

I'm hearing that Calvin Klein will be outfitting the football team next year. Not sure about the basketball team, yet.

Watch a video tour of OSU's locker room and you'll see why their recruiting is improving.  Surely we could do something similar for $6MM.  If they came out and said "Adidas is giving us $6MM more that Nike, so we are going to sit down and make a list of just the insanely nice things that any of our football players could every want and would be attractive to recruits.  We are then going to assign each project a score from 1 to 20 based on how it would impact the 'curb appeal' of KSU football to recruits.  We are going to find the combination of projects that maximizes the cumulative 'curb appeal' scores while staying at or below $6MM and commence on those projects as soon as possible."

This is the only way I'd switch away from Nike.

Fila deal?  British Knights? I really just want whatever Dan and Dave endorsed.

Reebok. But Dan couldn't even complete a high jump in Reebok gear and didn't make the Olympics. 4 years later he made the switch to Nike and, you guessed it, won the gold. Dan also beat Dave in the biathlon by utilizing a Ryder truck, so I wouldn't be opposed to canning that company out of Dodge City that supplies our hauler and just renting a Ryder truck when needed.

Seriously though, we should just order our uniforms out of Eastbay.
