Personally unless KU fan/friends are around I say Eff everyone but the cats. TSC is a good rule of thumb. Example don't mind rooting for KU in noncon but don't want them to win the conference so randomely root against them against say Baylor. Come NCAA tourney time want them out ASAP. Wichita is in Kansas so I root for them until the point it hurts image of the cats. It is good having 3 bball teams that are in the tournament from our state. If ku plays wichita than I choose wichita unless said friends are around. Overall it is more of a guideline than a rule.

The original point, I think, was that there are some scenarios in which you'd want to be TSC and others in which you'd want to be TCS. Which means that the TSC theory is refuted and should never be used by anyone who is not a dumbass.
