illinois would've been one of the five schools that i would've applied to if i didn't have a large desire to stay in state for grad school.

flyin illini-bardo, anderson, gill, etc. basically fab 5 before the fab 5.

Currently living in Ottawa, grew up in Oskaloosa (45 minutes from Topeka).

I lived in Oskaloosa for the first 9 months of my life, Grandparents lived there til I was about 12.

I'm surprised that there are people on here that know where Oskaloosa is, but when they say they lived thre it's even better.  I lived there for 18 years before coming to Ottawa.

I bowled at Oscaloosa's bowling alley once for a high school bowling "duel."  The orientation of the bowling alley really through me off.  I mean, generally, you walk into the bowling alley and are immediately looking at the direction of the pins.  Not so with "Osky" ( ).  There, you walk in, turn left, and there are the pins.  To this day, the only bowling alley I've ever seen like this.

I was a 5th grader at that point.  I remember going to the game, I just don't remember much other than Rock Creek winning.
