IIRC Felix was telling us something about how these "Super fan" soccer groups double as political rally's since normal protests are banned/not encouraged...or something like that.

Interested to hear is this is just a good ole fashioned soccer riot or something more.

The only bad news is the new husband hasn't been able to get permission to leave the country for a visit to the USA. Maybe it will be easier now that he is married to a U.S. citizen.

It's basically a gentrification/white flight kind of thing, but on a massive scale with a political angle thrown in. They want a flashy city like the gulf states have, and it's easier to just build one from scratch than to fix Cairo.
