For many participants, particularly college students, this is a time to enjoy the atmosphere of Aggieville, the surrounding neighborhoods, and the company of friends before the mid-semester break. Unfortunately, in the past, many attendees have perceived Fake Patty’s Day as an opportunity to act irresponsibly without thinking of consequences. The event has been associated with many negative issues including sexual assault, overcrowding, public intoxication, traffic congestion, illegal parking, acts of violence, and trash nuisances. Residents and visitors who wish to enjoy themselves safely and responsibly are most welcome in the community and RCPD wishes them a fun, safe, and enjoyable time in Manhattan. Those who intend to overindulge in alcohol consumption, abandon personal responsibility, and commit crimes should be aware that all state and local laws will be enforced during Fake Patty’s Day.

BTW, Fake patty's is really shitty now. It got too commercialized. The bands for certain bars, the emptiness of the street, etc. It really is shitty now. But have fun kids!

I was with 91.9 when we started it. I still remember the meeting. It was awesome and now it's just a bunch of bars trying to cash in, when they already were. I went like 4 years ago, last year, and couldn't believe how much it downgraded.

I guess I don't realize it. My buddy wanted to go last year for his 30th, which is so funny on so many parts, and I just wasn't a fan. The bands thing is really stupid. Not that it matters for us K-State grads, but I'd be pissed if I was a student.

I see like 15 statuses from my radio friends every year stating how they started it. It is true tho, but I would say there were like 8 main directors for it.

One day in March, me and my bros were sitting around talking about how it sucks St. Patrick's Day is during Spring Break, so we decided we were going to go to the bars first thing the Saturday before instead. Wear green and everything. So we talked to one of the aggieville bartenders and he told us he'd see what he could do and he'd talk his 91.9 friends into advertising the event. And thus FPD was born. You're welcome, guys.

I attended every FPD since it started in 2007 until last year. Didn't feel like I missed much.
