Yes, but then who's interests would they be promoting? Ours or the Chinese? I know many radical liberals see Mao as a hero.

so then why wouldn't Obama appoint one if he was a radical liberal?

i mean if he appointed them to the rest of his cabinet spots wouldn't this be the best appointment for a radical liberal?

I'm not a repub but I actually like Huntsman as a candidate.  Shame he didn't really have a shot.

And I do not believe that you know many radical liberals that see Mao as a hero.  If somehow you do, you are hanging out with a strange crowd

I think it was White House communications director Anita Dunn who infamously stated Mao was one of her favorite philosophers.

"The Mao quote is one I picked up from the late Republican strategist Lee Atwater from something I read in the late 1980s, so I hope I don't get my progressive friends mad at me," Dunn told CNN

Quote
"The third lesson and tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers: Mao Tse-tung and Mother Theresa -- not often coupled with each other, but the two people I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point which is 'you're going to make choices; you're going to challenge; you're going to say why not; you're going to figure out how to do things that have never been done before."

I have never listened to or watched a glen beck show of any kind, but I did watch the video in question and she said one of her favorite political philosophers is Mao. Not sure what your point is.

you're giving it a different context than what she said.

kinda like k-s-u is saying obama is a radical terrorist because he supported a law professor's hunger strike.

The best I can do for her is assume she doesn't know the full extent of Mao's reign of terror. Just stupid.

this is why you're my favorite conservative on this board.

i assume that it's one of those things that shouldn't have been said in today's political climate because it IS so easily taken out of context (maybe she really does believe in re-educations camps, who knows), but is harmless given the sentence it was contained in.

I just misinterpreted your original statement.  I thought you said that you know them, as in hang out with them, not know of them.  My bad

I do hang out with libs, but none of them would be dumb enough to quote Mao and say he was one of there favorite political philosophers.

Haha. Re-education camps. He had 3-5 million executed in town squares and starved another 70 million to death. How stupid do you have to be to mention him as a favorite philosopher in ANY context. Maybe she was referring to his softer side.
